That was what he said, but Fang Li had fed that glutton for so long that, if only for the sake of all the food money he had wasted, he would not really throw her out. Otherwise, it would all have gone down the drain.
So Fang Li let Index adopt the cat she had named Sphinx.
Come to think of it, this happened in the original story too, didn't it?
He meant Index adopting a cat.
In the end, this cat was adopted by Index and brought to Fang Li's dormitory.
"Maybe this is a good thing too."
At least, when Fang Li was not home, Index would not have to stare blankly at the television and computer she was completely unfamiliar with. Nor would she be so bored that she rolled around on the floor. At least now she had a companion to keep her company.
And so, the sky gradually grew dark.
After dinner, Index played with Sphinx.
Meanwhile, Fang Li prepared to leave.
"I have something to do, so I'm heading out for a while." As Fang Li put on his shoes in the entryway, he said to Index, "Don't run around. More than eighty percent of this city is made up of students, and students are generally forbidden from wandering around at night. Even the streets are sometimes patrolled by Security Guards. If you get caught after running off, I'm not coming to pick you up."
"Okaaay." Index seemed to have grown used to Fang Li's heartless remarks. She stuck out her tongue at him and said, "Besides, I have Sphinx now. I don't need Fang Li."
"...Is that so?" Fang Li smiled at Index. "That's fine too."
With that, Fang Li turned to leave.
But seeing him like that, Index became a little uneasy.
