To outsiders, Academy City was a place filled with allure. Not only did it have esper abilities, but its technology was far beyond that of the outside world.
That was why previous Daihaousei Festivals had always been packed with people. Even roads normally used by vehicles were turned into pedestrian walkways, allowing visitors from outside to move about freely. Otherwise, all kinds of congestion would surely have resulted.
And if previous Daihaousei Festivals had already been like that, then this year went without saying.
With a World-Class Diva as its main attraction, anyone who could make the trip would want to visit Academy City.
Even if they could not get close to the diva, simply seeing her sweat it out on the athletic field with their own eyes was enough to satisfy many people.
If there had been no restrictions on entry and exit, Academy City would probably have been bursting at the seams.
Therefore, only tourists who had received temporary IDs in advance were permitted to enter Academy City.
Some of those tourists were high-ranking officials and corporate representatives from around the world. Some were relatives of Academy City's teachers, scholars, and researchers. Most, however, were parents of students attending Academy City.
Only those people received temporary IDs from Academy City beforehand. As long as they were checked at the gates and their IDs were confirmed, they would be allowed through.
As for everyone else, no matter how good their reason was, they still could not enter Academy City.
It was precisely because of those restrictions that Academy City had not been packed to bursting. Even so, it was still overcrowded, with helicopters constantly flying through the sky.
Those helicopters had probably been sent by the media for live broadcasts.
Combined with the athletic competitions about to begin all
