This was a city in southeastern France, with a population of around ninety thousand. Including the suburbs outside the city, it had nearly one hundred sixty thousand people, making it a moderately sized urban area.
In France, Avignon was a market for fruit, vegetables, and wine. It had food processing, chemical, metallurgy, precision machinery, textile, and papermaking industries. The city also contained palaces and churches, while the Avignon Bridge, built in the twelfth century, was a renowned tourist attraction. Its tourism industry was quite developed.
Normally, there should have been plenty of people on the streets at this hour.
Yet amid the riots and demonstrations sweeping countries around the world, this city seemed to have become one of the affected areas as well. Afraid of being caught up in the unrest, people appeared to have hidden in their homes, leaving the streets almost completely deserted.
Under such circumstances, a young girl was slowly walking down the street.
She was a cute girl of around seventeen or eighteen, with striking double eyelids and shoulder-length black hair.
She wore a pink scoop-neck tank top and knee-length shorts. Her body looked slender and delicate, yet her figure was remarkably good, her top stretched taut by the clearly astonishing fullness concealed beneath it.
Despite being such a cute girl, her presence was not particularly noticeable.
If she were walking down a bustling street, she could probably blend into the crowd without any difficulty and become just another ordinary girl among the countless people of the world, right?
But judging solely by the fact that she was walking along a main street where a riot could break out at any moment, she was quite bold.
In truth, although the girl looked frail enough to inspire a protective instinct, there was not the slightest
