The tremendous impact turned into explosions, sweeping through every corner of Avignon's streets.

People's screams rang out endlessly as the terrifying shockwaves and explosions blasted them away, crushing them without mercy.
Under such circumstances, the ground was already littered with fallen bodies. The streets had been utterly reduced to ruins, buildings cracking apart and collapsing.
The scene was practically hell.
And the ones creating that hell were the mech forces dispatched by Academy City.
They glided forward like tanks, their heads turning as though scanning for enemies. Whenever they found a crowd, they raised their siege cannons and fired blank rounds, turning gunpowder into shockwaves that blasted groups of people away.
Faced with such a terrifying army, people could only flee with tears streaming down their faces.
Yet among the fleeing crowd, one person turned his back on them and charged straight toward the mech forces.
"What the hell are you doingggggg!?"
Kamijo Touma shouted furiously as he rushed toward the Powered Suit corps.
"Beep..."
One Powered Suit turned its head and spotted Kamijo Touma charging toward it.
"Click..."
Without the slightest hesitation, under its pilot's control, the Powered Suit raised its siege cannon toward Kamijo Touma.
"Boom—!"
Flames burst from the muzzle.
"Bang—!"
The explosion caused by the shockwave swallowed Kamijo Touma's location whole, gouging a chunk out of the ground.
However, that strike did not hit Kamijo Touma.
At the critical moment, another figure burst out, her entire body seeming to burn with flames. Moving as fast as a bullet, she shot to Kamijo Touma's position, grabbed him, and dodged the incoming explosion.
The flaming figure darted into a nearby alley.
