As a shut-in, Fang Li was no stranger to the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception.
It was a special ability originating from Tsukihime and Kara no Kyoukai of the Type-Moon Series.
There were two holders.
One was Ryougi Shiki from Kara no Kyoukai.
The other was Tohno Shiki from Tsukihime.
As the name implied, it was an ability that allowed one to directly see an object's "death."
Those who possessed this ability could see dark lines resembling cracks across the surfaces of most objects—the Lines of Death. If they cut along those lines, they could inflict damage that could neither be defended against nor healed.
One of the conditions for possessing this ability was personally experiencing death and coming to understand it.
"Death..."
Looking at the Ice Blue Eyes in the mirror, eyes that seemed capable of stealing all the warmth from a person's body, Fang Li mocked himself.
"Indeed, I could be considered someone who has experienced death once."
However, experiencing death was merely a condition for obtaining the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. It was not a condition for using them.
According to Fang Li's memories, even after obtaining the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, they were not something one could simply use at will.
"Not to mention that, strictly speaking, since I'm not in the Type-Moon World, I shouldn't possibly possess these eyes."
Fang Li clearly remembered that the Type-Moon Series had one most fundamental setting—everything was derived from the "Root."
The so-called "Root" was the origin of all things.
There lay not only the beginning of everything, but also the record of every ending.
Human souls were likewise derived from this "Root," gaining form and wisdom before multiplying and living upon the earth.
Because they had always been derived from the "Root," all humans in the Type-Moon World were connected to it.
Since the "Root" recorded every ending, being connected to it naturally meant recognizing the death of all things.
However, while the human brain could receive and transmit signals, the "line" connected to the "Root" was closed.
Only after experiencing death and understanding death would that "line" be opened.
Both Ryougi Shiki and Tohno Shiki had experienced death, allowing them to recognize and understand the "death" of things, see the "death" of things, and even forcibly lead their targets to an end by cutting that "death."
This was the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception.
"And yet, I'm clearly not in the Type-Moon World. There shouldn't be any connection to the 'Root' at all."
Yet Fang Li had still obtained the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception.
"Innate Skill... Innate Skill... So that means I have a talent for this, right?"
"Even though I merely feel nothing toward 'death.'"
Fang Li sighed softly and put away the mirror.
No matter what, since even the Main God Space existed, no matter how unbelievable something was, it could no longer be considered strange.
Although Fang Li's attributes were awful, having such a pair of Magic Eyes would undoubtedly bring him nothing but benefits in the Instance World ahead.
"I still have 990 Exchange Points and 5 Free Attribute Points left. How should I use them?"
In thirty minutes, Fang Li would have to enter his first Instance World.
He had to make good use of the resources in his hands for the journey ahead.
Thus, Fang Li spent twenty-five minutes clutching his head and thinking hard before finally taking action.
First, Fang Li allocated all 5 Free Attribute Points to AGI, raising his AGI to 6.
"With the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, as long as I can hit the target, I can deal tremendous damage. There isn't much need to raise STR."
"As for VIT, rather than considering how much punishment I can take after getting hit, I should be thinking about how not to get hit in the first place. So raising VIT is worse than raising AGI."
"As for INT, given my current situation, I can't make use of this attribute at all. Adding points to it would be the same as adding none."
"To sum it up, raising AGI is undoubtedly my only choice."
"As long as I have speed, my movement, evasion, retreat, and even attacks will all be assured."
Increasing AGI would improve Fang Li's movement speed, attack speed, reflexes, motor coordination, jumping ability, and all other physical capabilities related to agility.
Simply put, it increased the body's speed.
Other than thinking, this attribute could improve nearly every bodily ability related to speed.
For a shut-in, this attribute was undoubtedly more important than any of the others.
After assigning all 5 Free Attribute Points to AGI, Fang Li followed the guidance message and used the Main God Space's exchange function, opening an exchange interface and beginning to trade for items.
Fang Li first spent 100 Exchange Points to exchange for a dagger.
In the Main God Space, ranked equipment could grant its wearer additional enhancements.
Some of those enhancements increased attributes, while others came with built-in skills. That was why they could become one of the important factors determining a Main God Envoy's strength.
Like character levels, equipment ranks were divided from high to low into First Level, Second Level, Third Level, Fourth Level, and Fifth Level.
However, ranked equipment was generally quite expensive. With Fang Li's current 990 Exchange Points, he could not afford any.
Since he could not exchange for ranked equipment, Fang Li could only get an ordinary dagger.
Without a weapon, even with the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, Fang Li could not cut the enemy's Lines of Death or kill them.
Then, Fang Li exchanged for several more items.
Stamina Recovery Potion: Continuously restored a small amount of the user's stamina. Duration: 10 seconds. 300 Exchange Points.
Wound Recovery Potion: Continuously restored the user's injuries, up to light wounds. Duration: 10 seconds. 500 Exchange Points.
Energy Compression Biscuit: Continuously restored the user's energy and nutrition. Duration: 10 seconds. 50 Exchange Points.
Water Bottle: Small bottle, capable of holding 10 liters of water. 30 Exchange Points.
After exchanging for those, Fang Li used his remaining 10 Exchange Points to get a Leg Pouch. He placed the two potions, a pack of biscuits, and a Water Bottle inside it, then strapped it to the outside of his thigh.
As for the dagger, Fang Li wore it at his waist.
With that, Fang Li had squandered all of his Exchange Points without leaving a single point behind.
Frankly speaking, for a newcomer to the space, Fang Li's actions could be called extremely bold.
After all, this was the Main God Space, a world that could allow people to gain everything and lose everything.
Here, as long as one had Exchange Points, one could obtain almost anything.
Conversely, as long as one had no Exchange Points, the moment their Exchange Points became negative, there was only one outcome.
Once one's Exchange Points were insufficient, they would be erased.
Therefore, this was paradise for the strong and hell for the weak.
For that reason, no one would choose to squander all their Exchange Points, lest they fail a Main Quest someday, lack sufficient Exchange Points, and ultimately be erased.
Even veteran Main God Envoys acted this way, let alone newcomers who had only just entered the space.
As a result, newcomers often died miserably in Instance Worlds because they were too timid to use their Exchange Points properly and found themselves short on resources.
Yet Fang Li had spent every last Exchange Point without the slightest hesitation.
Because Fang Li feared everything except death.
And so, thirty minutes passed.
