Things I Still Want to Know

The scene in Pleasure Street was fundamentally different from the streets outside.

The difference lay in the arrangement of the buildings.

Here, shops stood one after another, arranged much like a shopping district. Yet passageways connected every building, allowing corridors to stretch above the streets and block out the light from the sky.

Pillars supporting those corridors stood everywhere, without the slightest sense of order.

Buildings housing clubs, bars, casinos, restaurants, and other establishments were lined up row after row.

The pedestrians here generally skewed older. There were surely students among them, yet almost none wore school badges. They were clearly breaking the rules.

However, those who frequented a place like this were hardly the sort to obey rules obediently, so such a sight was only natural.

At this very moment, though, whether they were pedestrians on the street or people inside the various establishments, they had all gathered together, pointing and talking in the direction not far away.

After all, just moments ago, countless miasma arms had shot up from there, like rampaging tornadoes, destroying that entire area.

Such a huge disturbance had initially horrified the people of Pleasure Street, but as time passed, it gradually turned into an uproar.

Looking closely, gangs of mobsters in black suits had begun hurrying in that direction, apparently intending to find out what had happened.

After such a massive commotion, how could anyone possibly continue doing business without getting to the bottom of it?

Thus, the entire Pleasure Street was drawn in by the sudden disturbance. People gathered in the streets, either pointing in that direction or heading straight for the scene to investigate, making the place livelier than ever.

Yet under such circumstances, the people of Pleasure Street failed to notice something.

From a nearby alley, two extremely eye-catching figures emerged
