Gods truly existed in this world.
Otherwise, there would be no such things as divine artifacts bestowed by the Gods, nor heroes summoned from Other Worlds by deities.
And since Gods existed, there naturally could not be a shortage of religious organizations devoted to them.
Thus, this world had groups that worshipped all manner of Gods.
Among them, there were two particularly famous religions.
One was the Eris Cult.
The Eris Cult was the state religion of the Belzerg Kingdom, worshipping Eris, the Goddess who governed luck.
It was said that Eris was not only the Goddess of Luck, but also the Goddess who guided those who died young. She was the most famous and widely worshipped deity in this world.
As a result, Eris had become the unit of currency, and her followers could be found practically all over the world.
The other was the Axies Cult.
The Axies Cult was likewise an extremely famous religion.
However, unlike the Eris Cult, which was the state religion, the Axies Cult was famous in an entirely different sense.
That was to say, it was infamous.
The believers in this cult were all people with something wrong with their heads.
For the sake of proselytizing, there was practically nothing they would not do.
For example, they slandered the Eris Cult, calling the state-sanctioned Eris Cult a heretical sect. They regarded followers of every other religion as heathens and fanatically excluded outsiders. They would even show up at people's doors, smash the windows of their churches with stones, and spread rumors about other faiths. Even the Demon Lord was slandered by them, leading many to believe that the Demon Lord's Army attacked humanity because of the Axies Cult.
For that reason, the Axies Cult was extremely well-known, but only for its bad reputation.
