Huang Village was a relatively developed village in Huaxia, fairly close to the city. But there were still farmers here. After all, agriculture was the nation's most fundamental industry—people depended on food to live!
Yu Baosheng was one of the few able-bodied farm workers in the village. His family circumstances were not good. He had dropped out of school early and, in order to care for his seriously ill mother and younger siblings, he had not gone to the city to find work like others his age.

Putting away his hoe, he greeted the neighbor still working in the adjacent field and headed home.
"What a foolish child!" The elderly neighbor, nearly fifty years old, shook his head and sighed before continuing his work.
