Chapter Summaries

Kelvin, Broom, and Ella defeated a lone Corrupted Jackal and found valuable Moonlight Moss, but a pack ambushed them before Chen Yu drove it away. After surviving, the Rookie Squad withdrew, and Chen Yu decided to send Yano and the Castle Guard to investigate the Death Swamp.

• Ella stunned the lone jackal with her Oak Staff, allowing Kelvin and Broom to kill it and discover Moonlight Moss in a nearby chest.
• A pack of Corrupted Jackals charged the group, and Broom told Kelvin to escape with Ella while he held them off.
• Kelvin overcame his fear and charged to defend Broom and Ella, rejecting the cold-blooded survival rule he had once followed.
• Chen Yu struck two jackals down with a Lesser Arrow Technique, frightening the rest into fleeing.
• Kelvin, Broom, and Ella thanked each other for surviving and withdrew from the swamp.

Arno returned through Swamp Forest after spreading word of the newly appeared ruins, eager to have the petrification curse treated. He met Chen Yu on the Forest Path and followed him into Oak Territory, where the transformed castle and its organized forces astonished him.

• Arno left the adventuring party and traveled deeper into Swamp Forest, noticing the ruins that had appeared throughout it.
• Arno reflected on his gratitude to the boss and hurried onward to seek treatment for his curse.
• Chen Yu encountered Arno on the Forest Path and asked him to carry him back to the castle.
• Arno followed Chen Yu through the mist and discovered a towering city wall and watchtower in Oak Territory.
• Arno saw the territory’s orderly vine tents and Digger Beetle formation being trained by Stinger Bees.

Chen Yu sent Yano and a large Stinger Bee force to scout Death Swamp while he learned to make Stone Fortification Talismans. Yano returned with news that a fire-wielding beast had driven the swamp’s inhabitants from their territories, and Chen Yu sent him back with talismans for himself and Seja.

• Chen Yu ordered Yano to lead the Stinger Bees south and scout Death Swamp, with Digger Beetles accompanying the force as shields.
• Chen Yu successfully drew five Stone Fortification Talismans and tested one, finding that its barrier resisted bee stingers and required two Lesser Arrow Technique shots to break.

She and Karen continued toward the Outpost Ruins to pursue the Rusty Keys, but Alice’s deeper goal was to discover what happened to her missing brother.

• Alice recalled that Yano had left knight training because of Petrification Disease and lamented his lost potential.

Chen Yu learned enough Common Tongue to understand Yano’s warning that a mana surge and coming storm could embolden corrupted monsters, so he helped the Rotten Moss Tribe prepare to attack the Scaleclaw Tribe. As rain began, Chen Yu went deeper into the swamp to hunt and investigate, where he saw Corrupted Crocodiles drive a Little Crocodile toward his castle.

• Chen Yu reached Common Tongue Lv.2 and understood Yano when he arrived with news of a coming rainstorm and increased attacks by corrupted monsters.
• Chen Yu gave Yano Moonlight Moss and Stinger Bees to help Seja recruit adventurers for the Rotten Moss Tribe’s campaign against the Scaleclaw Tribe.
• Seja told Semiya about the Puto Envoy, then gave her a leaf for protection.

Yano rallied the adventurers and Rotten Moss Tribe's Lizardfolk to pursue the Corrupted Lizardfolk into the swamp, while Chen Yu traveled through Swamp Forest and received Yano's report. After hearing where the Corrupted Lizardfolk were, Chen Yu formed an idea.

• Old Beaver Kenken reinforced his dam as traffic increased along the Reed River road.
• Yano learned that the Corrupted Lizardfolk had set traps for the Rotten Moss Tribe's scouts and retreated toward Swamp Forest.
• Yano rallied the hesitant adventurers with a speech, and they followed him and the Rotten Moss Tribe's Lizardfolk into the swamp.
• Chen Yu traveled through Swamp Forest with Little Crocodile and several hundred Stinger Bees, then read Yano's message and devised a plan.

Yano’s adventurers and the Rotten Moss Tribe’s Lizardfolk entered the swamp forest to hunt the Corrupted Lizardfolk, only to discover the enemy had lured them into a trap with the Gnolls. As the two groups united to face the attackers, a warning came that a huge enemy was approaching.

• Seja guided the hunting party and adventurers through Death Swamp while they searched for the Corrupted Lizardfolk.
• Semiya detected an ambush and wounded a Corrupted Lizardfolk, then the attackers launched spears from the fog.
• Semiya and the adventurers fought back, killing several Corrupted Lizardfolk as Yano sensed that the battle was going too easily.
• Yano realized the Corrupted Lizardfolk had used their own people as bait to surround the party with Gnolls and hyenas.
• The adventurers and Rotten Moss Tribe’s Lizardfolk joined forces, and Yano heard the boss warn that a big enemy was coming.

A beast stampede shattered the Corrupted Lizardfolk’s encirclement, allowing Yano and the adventurers to counterattack as Semiya confronted Zulok. Semiya fought a magically transformed Rotten Lizardfolk while Seja threw her Blessing Items to her, and the chapter ended with Semiya wondering whether the Puto Envoy would favor her.

• A stampede of Demonic Beasts scattered the Corrupted Lizardfolk, and Yano rallied the adventurers to fight their way through.
• Zulok appeared and used his magic to transform nearby Corrupted Lizardfolk warriors into Rotten Lizardfolk.

• Semiya used Blessed Leaves to block the Rotten Lizardfolk’s attacks, then killed it and helped the adventurers break through the Gnolls.
• Semiya pinned Zulok with a spear, but Rusty Keys rogues ambushed her; Stone Protection stopped their attack.
• Chen Yu’s split-off warned Yano about the rogues and guided him to defeat three attackers, earning him the adventurers’ admiration.

Chen Yu and Little Card escaped after Hawk was killed by an explosive Slime, while an Undead Knight arrived and hunted down the remaining thieves. The Knight killed Leon after explaining that he had pursued them because Leon had stepped on his flower.

• Hawk and Leon complained that their employer had died and noticed Chen Yu and Little Card in the swamp.
• Hawk tried to stab Little Card, but an explosion killed him, and Leon fled to warn the other thieves.
• The thieves heard an undead horse approaching and scattered as the Undead Knight emerged from the fog.
• Chen Yu left the swamp with Little Card and the Stinger Bees while the Undead Knight caught the thieves.
• The Undead Knight told Leon he had pursued them because Leon stepped on his flower, then killed him with his lance.

Arthur mourned the withered flower and followed Count Bran into the forest, determined to seek the Lord of the Swamp. Meanwhile, Chen Yu and Little Card explored the swamp’s abnormal magic-power points, where Chen Yu defeated frenzied beasts and drained the magic before heading onward.

• Arthur took out the withered flower, remembered Alice, and realized he was lost in the swamp.
• Count Bran arrived and mocked Arthur’s belief that the Lord of the Swamp was Nature’s Kin, then offered to guide him.
• Arthur mounted his warhorse and followed Count Bran into the forest toward the swamp’s depths.
• Chen Yu rode Little Card toward a gray mist gathering point despite Little Card’s fear of the rain and the monsters it might bring.
• A frenzied Swamp Boar charged Chen Yu and Little Card, and Chen Yu blasted it away with Lesser Arrow Technique.

Chen Yu continued gathering magic power in the storm and explored deeper into the swamp, dreaming of building a Slime Kingdom. Elsewhere, Arthur and Count Bran remained lost while searching for the Lord of the Swamp.

Chen Yu explored the swamp, raised his slime abilities, and sent a split slime back to build his territory and produce healing fluid. After circling a dangerous banyan forest, he reached what appeared to be the swamp’s edge, where his Prestige Title began glowing gold.

• Chen Yu woke after absorbing gray mist Mana, gained levels in Toxin Resistance, Devour and Digest, and Splitting Proliferation, then created a small Life Drain slime.
• Chen Yu made two Life Drain slimes produce bottles of healing fluid in Xuxuantian and ordered another split slime, the Earthwork Slime, to return and build the territory.
• Chen Yu and Little Card searched an abandoned village, found two unreadable waterlogged parchments, and continued toward the swamp’s border.
• Chen Yu spotted a dangerous forest of interconnected Strangling Banyans and rode Little Card in a wide circle around it.
• After night fell, Chen Yu saw what looked like a lake ahead and noticed that his Prestige Title was glowing gold.

After earning the Slime Lord title, Chen Yu reached a lake while exploring the Swamp and discovered goblins near a dungeon. Giant cockroaches poured from the dungeon entrance, and Chen Yu ordered Little Card to flee.

• Chen Yu received the golden Slime Lord title after completing his exploration of the Swamp and considered using its effects to build a fortress and cultivate elite troops.
• Chen Yu rode Little Card toward a lake, where dozens of piranhas erupted from the shallows and chased them onto shore.
• Chen Yu and Little Card hid in the woods as Chen Yu spotted two goblins collecting clay near a massive dungeon entrance.
• The goblins ran as swarms of giant Black-winged Monsters crawled out of the dungeon, and Chen Yu recognized them as cockroaches.

Seja began the Snow Eagle Trial journey with Semiya after Priest Shazak told her about Shaman Kukala’s resting place, while Chen Yu planned to strengthen his territory against swarms of cockroach Demonic Beasts. Chen Yu then visited Shao Qingsong, who had found him an earth-element Sword Control Daoist Art that required making Sword Pellets from mud.

• Semiya and Seja prepared to leave the Rotten Moss Tribe, and Shazak gave them supplies and advised Seja to seek Shaman Kukala’s resting place on Eagle Beak Peak.
• Seja and Semiya waved goodbye to the tribespeople and set out along the northern trail; Shazak kept Seja’s Gray Grit Crystals and letter.
• Chen Yu returned to his castle with Little Card and realized the Strangling Banyans had been protecting his territory from cockroach Demonic Beasts.

Chen Yu learned the Mud Ball Sword Forging Technique and secured permission to pursue beast taming while preparing his castle for a storm. Meanwhile, Arthur and Count Bran escaped the banyan maze, then turned back toward the swamp during the rain.

• Shao Qingsong gave Chen Yu the Mud Ball Sword Forging Technique, which could enhance his Object Manipulation Technique, and hinted that Chen Yu could pay Elder Wang for help with beast-taming procedures.
• Chen Yu paid four Spirit Stones, studied the technique, and began practicing by rolling mud into sword pellets.

After the flood destroyed Kenken’s dam and Petrification Disease worsened in Yano’s right arm, Yano brought a delivery to Swamp Castle and discovered Chen Yu’s Slimes and beetles building a vast outer fortress. Chen Yu planned the next phase of construction and how to use the land around the castle.

• Floodwaters swept away Kenken’s dam, leaving the beaver grieving beside the river.
• Yano noticed the petrification had spread through his right arm again, but took comfort in the money he had earned and the hope that the boss’s needles would ease his symptoms.
• Yano carried a clay jar and a rolled grass letter from the Rotten Moss Tribe through the swamp toward Swamp Castle.
• Yano found Slimes using magic to shape mud bricks while tree roots stacked them into a huge wall, and the little Slime that had ridden in his armor told him to come in.
• Chen Yu planned to enclose an area about six football fields in size and designated land around the fortress for farmland, training grounds, nests, mushroom cultivation, breeding, and future use.
