Ch. 122The Art of Trade

Chen Yu planned to trade Magic Leaves with the Treants and establish mage education for the Slime Kingdom while preparing for the minor magic tide. After the Beetle Miners found a large Gray Grit Crystal, he set out for the Obsidian Mining Area to surprise the goblins.

  • As Count Bran worried that trading Magic Leaves for food would be a loss, Chen Yu explained that the Treants were important allies and that talismans cost far less to make than Magic Scrolls.
  • Count Bran realized the Magic Leaves could bring a large profit and became excited about Chen Yu's plans for the kingdom.
  • Chen Yu announced a plan for compulsory mage education through a Magic Tree Academy, where Slimes could learn magic and other disciplines.
  • The next day, Chen Yu learned that the Beetle Miners had found a large Gray Grit Crystal before opening the passage to Root Language Forest.
  • Chen Yu sent the crystal back to the territory and ventured into the Obsidian Mining Area to surprise the goblins before the magic tide.

Ch. 123Contacting the Slaves

Chen Yu used Little Fatty and Nanny Brothers to enter the slave camp, where goblins punished the slaves for an attempted escape. After seeing Anvil badly wounded and recognizing his companions as Corrupted Believers, Chen Yu devised a way to contact them and moved his slimes toward the dwarf.

  • Little Fatty landed in the slave camp disguised as a rock, but the Goblin Overseer kicked it aside and demanded that the slaves identify whoever had tried to escape.
  • Anvil stepped forward to protect the others, and the Goblin Overseer whipped him severely before beating several more slaves and threatening the camp.
  • Kane and the other slaves secretly carried the unconscious Anvil to a shack, where Little John blamed himself for Anvil's injuries.
  • Chen Yu recognized the slaves caring for Anvil as Corrupted Believers and saw an opportunity to contact them.
  • Chen Yu ordered Little Fatty and Nanny Brothers to sneak through the camp toward Anvil.

Ch. 124Soft and Squishy God

Chen Yu used the Nanny Brothers to heal Anvil, who had nearly died from hunger and torture in the mine. Anvil awoke believing Morgul had given him knowledge of a trial, leaving Kane and the other Corrupted Believers stunned.

  • Chen Yu sent the Nanny Brothers to Anvil and used their life energy to heal his wounds.
  • Anvil relived the fall of Blackrock Bastion and his clansmen’s enslavement as he drifted toward death.
  • A soft voice jolted Anvil awake, and Little John, Kane, and the other believers saw that his wounds had mostly healed.
  • Anvil told the gathered believers that Morgul had bestowed knowledge on him during his despair.
  • Anvil said the knowledge seemed to be a trial, shocking the Corrupted Believers.

Ch. 125Man Is Iron, Food Is Steel

Anvil met Chen Yu’s Slime envoys and agreed to help overthrow the Goblin Legion during an approaching beast tide, but warned that the slaves needed food. Chen Yu dug a passage to the Treant territory to open trade, then worried that Arthur would negotiate poorly.

  • After Little John left, Anvil knocked on the wall and met the Nanny Brothers, who revealed they came from the Slime Kingdom of the East Swamp.
  • The Nanny Brothers told Anvil that a demonic beast tide would strike in four days and that the Kingdom would support a slave uprising during the Corruption Trial.
  • Anvil asked whether the Slime Kingdom could provide food for the slaves, and Chen Yu realized he needed to establish trade with the Treant territory.
  • Chen Yu organized fifty beetles to dig a passage, then used magic and tree roots to reinforce it until it reached a poison-mist chamber connected to the Treant territory.
  • After building defenses in the chamber, Chen Yu assessed his remaining talismans and worried that Arthur would mishandle the grain negotiations.

Ch. 126Relief Rations from the Slime Kingdom

Arthur and Chen Yu traded Magic Leaves with Isolde and Lord Viola for food supplies and seeds, establishing a route between the Slime Kingdom and Root Language Forest. As Arthur brought the supplies home, Anvil waited in the slave camp for the Slime Kingdom’s promised relief rations.

  • Isolde met Arthur and Chen Yu on Lord Viola’s behalf and asked to see goods valuable enough to interest the forest.
  • Arthur offered Magic Leaves, and Chen Yu revealed that the Slime Kingdom had dug a secret tunnel to Root Language Forest.
  • Beets and the disciplined Stinger Bees delivered a Magic Leaf, which Isolde tested and Lord Viola confirmed was as strong as an ordinary Magic Scroll.
  • Isolde negotiated the price down to sixteen gold coins per leaf and traded fifteen leaves for three carts of food and Elf Crop Seeds.
  • Arthur returned with the supplies, and Chen Yu reassured him that securing food, seeds, and a stable trade route mattered more than earning a few extra coins.
  • At the Obsidian Mining Area slave camp, Anvil endured the Greenskins’ meager rations while waiting for relief supplies from the Slime Kingdom.

Ch. 127The Conquest of Delicious Food

Anvil received food and water from the Slime Envoys, then asked to share it with Kane and the other prisoners. The Slime Kingdom prepared to support believers willing to undergo a trial before the demon tide, while Chen Yu waited for Goblin Ripper to finish reconstructing.

  • Anvil hid the truth about the Slime Kingdom from Kane and said the gods had revealed a path to face the demon tide in three days.
  • Anvil fell asleep hungry, then woke when Little Fatty and the Nanny Brothers came through a hole in the rock wall with food.
  • Anvil eagerly ate a roasted tuber, drank clean water, and ate a crispy Moss Monster, overwhelmed with gratitude to the Slime Kingdom.
  • Anvil asked whether he could share the food with Kane and the others, and the Nanny Brothers approved and promised further supplies.
  • The Nanny Brothers asked Anvil to prepare a list of believers willing to accept the trial, while Chen Yu privately relied on Goblin Ripper as a secret weapon.

Ch. 128They Want a Taste of Cannon Fire

Chen Yu successfully tested the Goblin Ripper Type I, while Anvil and Kane organized a secret plan to help the mine slaves escape during the coming demon tide. After Hammer Bone arrived and threatened to attack East Swamp, the Nanny Brothers reassured Anvil that their secret weapon was ready.

  • Chen Yu activated the Jierluofu Ten Star Ginza formation and destroyed its targets with the Goblin Ripper’s silver beam.
  • Anvil secretly gave Kane food and water, explained that a faction from East Swamp was supporting the prisoners, and urged him to escape with Little John during the demon tide.
  • Kane passed news of the food and escape plan to the scattered Corrupted Believers working in the mine.
  • Hammer Bone visited the mine and announced that he would attack East Swamp with the Goblin Shaman after the demon tide began.
  • Kane warned Anvil about Hammer Bone, and the Nanny Brothers said their secret weapon had already been installed.

Ch. 129Anomaly in the Mining Area

Kane’s secret food deliveries reached the Corrupted Believers, while a Mana anomaly in the Goblin fortress threatened to disrupt the rebellion. The Nanny Brothers reassured Anvil, supplied Healing Potions, and gave him a strange cannon blueprint to prepare for the coming magic tide.

  • Corrupted Believers followed Kane’s instructions and received food and water delivered by beetles, deepening their faith in him.
  • Kane learned from a fellow believer’s gesture that the delivery had succeeded, then overheard Goblins investigating a Mana anomaly and nearby Demonic Beasts.
  • Kane told Anvil about the anomaly, and Anvil worried that it could endanger their plan.
  • The Nanny Brothers brought Anvil Healing Potions and relayed the King’s instruction to stick to the original plan.
  • The Nanny Brothers gave Anvil a carved Gray Grit Crystal, Magic Paper, and a blueprint for a device they said could help against Goblins.

Ch. 130Mana Riot Begins

Chen Yu discovered Earth Elementals overrunning the Obsidian Mining Area, gained Earth Affinity and Energy Storage by devouring their cores, and escaped with his avatars. As the Goblins locked down the slave camp, Anvil agreed to launch their escape plan ahead of schedule.

  • Chen Yu found an Earth Elemental in the mine passage, destroyed its rocky body, and had the Nanny Brothers devour its crystal core.
  • Chen Yu’s avatars hunted more Earth Elementals chewing Gray Grit Crystal, gaining Earth Affinity and Energy Storage as their Spiritual Power dwindled.
  • A swarm of Earth Elementals flooded the passage, forcing Chen Yu’s avatars to flee through the narrow tunnel and order the Demonic Beast units to retreat.
  • Kane noticed Goblin Warriors rushing deeper into the fortress and learned that Goblin Overseers had sealed the slave camp.
  • Kane told Anvil that the Goblins’ distraction created a chance to act, and Anvil accepted the Slime Envoy’s support and ordered the operation to begin immediately.

Ch. 131For Freedom!

Kane began Morgul’s trial while Anvil’s staged madness signaled the Corrupted Believers to prepare for rebellion. As the trial unleashed Kane’s fury over Lina’s death and the camp erupted into chaos, Anvil fought the goblins to protect him, until Kane burst from the hut transformed by grayish-purple mist.

  • Anvil feigned madness to signal the Corrupted Believers, who withdrew to prepare for the trial.
  • Kane sacrificed his ring finger to Morgul and was dragged into a vision of Lina’s death, where he charged the goblin phantom in a rage.
  • Anvil and Little John began setting up the magic formation as Kane’s screams drew Goblin Overseers toward the huts.
  • The Corrupted Believers sparked fights among the slaves to distract the goblins, and Anvil attacked the guards to protect the trial.
  • Anvil fought off goblins with a hammer, recovering from his wounds through the Slime’s Healing Spell, but reinforcements arrived.
  • Kane burst from the hut through the torn curtain, shrouded in grayish-purple mist, and charged the goblins.

Ch. 132Blast Him with the Cannon

Kane and the escaped slaves fought back after several believers passed Morgul’s trial, but Hammer Bone’s arrival forced them to retreat into the slave camp. Anvil used Chen Yu’s silver-light formation to blast the goblins and stagger Hammer Bone, but the formation ran out of energy, and Chen Yu asked Anvil to throw him toward the enemy to buy time.

  • Kane and Anvil joined the newly advanced mage and warrior in leading the slaves’ counterattack, while Chen Yu received the Chaos Missionary title.
  • Anvil urged Kane to lead the believers and slaves toward the fortress exit, but goblin reinforcements and Hammer Bone forced them to retreat into the slave camp.
  • Anvil activated the jade talisman and Gray Grit Crystal formation, blasting the goblin ranks and knocking Hammer Bone off its feet.
  • Hammer Bone endured another cannon blast, and the formation’s Gray Grit Crystals crumbled before Anvil could fire again.
  • Kane charged at Hammer Bone to hold it off, while Chen Yu told Anvil to throw him toward the Bear Goblin so he could buy time.

Ch. 133Beast Stupefaction Technique Was Still Too Authoritative

Anvil and Chen Yu used Chaotic Preaching to turn Hammer Bone against the goblins, allowing the slaves to escape the fortress. Their flight was interrupted by creatures pouring from a planar rift, but the Demonic Beast army arrived as they faced another Stone Giant.

  • Kane and the believers fought Hammer Bone, but his strength overwhelmed them until the mage blinded him and Anvil arrived.
  • Anvil threw Chen Yu at Hammer Bone, and Chen Yu used Chaotic Preaching and the Beast Stupefaction Technique to make Hammer Bone repent and order the goblins to let the slaves leave.
  • Hammer Bone told Chen Yu that a planar rift had opened near the main mine shaft, and monsters erupted from the mining area as the group reached the fortress gates.
  • Anvil led the slaves out of the fortress while earth creatures attacked the goblins, but a Stone Giant formed in their path and then suddenly burst apart.
  • A giant boar carrying a Slime and a crow appeared with the Demonic Beast army behind it.

Ch. 134Occupying the Mining Area (5k)

Chen Yu’s demonic beast army seized the Obsidian Mining Area, defeated its defenders, and drove off a giant earthworm. After freeing the slaves and gaining Anvil as a companion, Chen Yu prepared to explore the mining area’s depths and investigate the Planar Rift.

  • Anvil and Kane joined Chen Yu’s army as it advanced into the Obsidian Mining Area, where Pei Qi and the Stinger Bee soldiers routed the goblins and Earth Elemental creatures.
  • A giant earthworm burst from the ground and scattered the Self-Destructing Bee Soldiers, but Anvil and Kane used Goblin Ripper cannons to wound it and force it to retreat.
  • Chen Yu ordered the army to secure the mining area, gather spoils, and begin mining after acquiring Earth Softening and Earth Hardening talents from crystal cores.
  • Chen Yu declared the rescued slaves free; most departed, while Anvil stayed and Kane and two believers temporarily joined before leaving to escort Little John and attend to their dead companions.
  • Chen Yu created three Earthwork Slimes to build a temporary fortress, then set out with Anvil to explore the mining area’s depths and investigate the Planar Rift.

Ch. 135Subduing the Earth Elemental

Chen Yu used the Black Copper Ring to contract with a group of Earth Elementals by tempting them with glowing ore, then followed Anvil deeper into the mine. They found the route to the main mining area blocked by an enormous, exceptionally hard boulder that fascinated Anvil as a possible source of forging material.

  • Anvil guided Chen Yu through the ruined Copperfire Clan mines and explained how goblins had destroyed the clan’s former home.
  • Chen Yu scared off a Stone Ball Monster with Vaporous Illusion after the little Earth Elementals tricked it into turning away.
  • Anvil recognized Chen Yu’s Black Copper Ring as the Copperfire Clan’s heirloom, Earth’s Whisper, and learned that it had been found in the bat boss’s stomach.
  • Chen Yu used glowing Spirit Stones to win over the little Earth Elementals, and the Black Copper Ring dissolved after their contract formed.
  • The Earth Elementals told Chen Yu that a strange boulder blocked the way ahead, and Anvil discovered that it was as hard as metal when he struck it with his Battle Axe.

Ch. 136Slime Talent Plan

Chen Yu returned from the mining area with a large haul, and the Slime Kingdom’s defenses repelled the demonic tide with little trouble. With resources secured and the Goblin Legion mysteriously absent, he began planning specialized careers to develop the kingdom’s slime population.

  • Chen Yu returned to the East Swamp fortress with Count Bran and the Demonic Beast army, while Anvil stayed behind to guard the reclaimed mining area.
  • Arthur defeated an undead force attacking the fortress and then welcomed Chen Yu’s returning party through the rain.
  • The demonic tide attacked the next day, but the Goblin Ripper array and Self-Destructing Bee Soldiers stopped the beasts before they could reach the fortress walls.
  • Chen Yu learned the expedition had brought back 245 Gray Grit Crystals and a large quantity of ores, weapons, and equipment, while the goblins had vanished from the mining area.
  • Chen Yu began planning specialized slime professions, including Agronomists, Engineers, Mages, and Artillerymen, to strengthen the kingdom’s food production, construction, magic, and defenses.

Ch. 137Legion's Actions

Chen Yu discovered that Little Flower could stamp talismans, then learned that rumors of a mysterious Demonic Beast force in the East Swamp were spreading among adventurers. At Cracked Stone Pass, Legion Commander Cracked Tooth planned to use human mercenaries against the Swamp and Viola while the Goblin Legion investigated a petrified Dragon buried in its mine.

  • Little Flower showed Chen Yu how she stamped talismans onto Magic Paper, easing the territory’s shortage of talisman makers.
  • Yano reported that adventurers were spreading news of a mysterious Demonic Beast force and lost treasures in the East Swamp; Chen Yu sent him to gather information at the Outpost Ruins.
  • Chen Yu equipped Yano with stealth, illusion, defensive talismans, and a Little Fatty before sending him back toward the Outpost Ruins.
  • Cracked Tooth rebuked Hammer Bone for letting slaves escape and refused his offer to lead an attack on the East Swamp.
  • Cracked Tooth said human mercenaries would clear the way against the East Swamp and that Viola would face plague, then looked down at a huge petrified Dragon in the ruined mine.

Ch. 138A Gunner's Self-Cultivation

Steel Mud served as a gunner atop the fortress wall and helped the Metal Slimes operate its Artillery Arrays. When three mercenaries sent by Blackfang discovered the fortress, the defenders overwhelmed them and forced them to surrender.

  • Steel Mud patrolled the fortress wall, inspected an Artillery Array, and supplied it with stored energy.
  • Barr, Rex, and Hank crossed the Swamp to confirm the fortress’s location for Blackfang.
  • The mercenaries spotted the Metal Slimes and the cannons, but Steel Mud’s companions detected them as they tried to withdraw.
  • The Artillery Arrays bombarded the mercenaries while Stinger Bees cut off their escape.
  • The fifth cannon shot wounded Hank, and Barr surrendered with Rex and Hank surrounded by the bees.

Ch. 139Taking the Initiative

Chen Yu and Yano traveled to the Outpost Ruins camp to investigate the Black Fang Mercenary Group, which had hired scouts to probe the Swamp fortress. There, Yano followed a suspicious man and discovered that he was Kane, who recognized Chen Yu.

  • Black Fang scouts judged the Swamp forces a serious threat after their probe failed and recommended raising their danger rating to A-rank.
  • Chen Yu learned that the captured Skullcrusher squad had been hired by Black Fang and decided to gather intelligence about the mercenary group.
  • Yano told Chen Yu that the Lizardfolk were driving adventurers away from the Swamp, and Chen Yu planned a trip to the Outpost Ruins camp.
  • Yano and Chen Yu traveled to the camp, where Yano used Vaporous Illusion to disguise himself after attracting attention.
  • Yano followed a hooded man who was asking about the Swamp, but the man confronted him with a dagger before recognizing Chen Yu as His Majesty.

Ch. 140Wuhan Port Merchant Alliance

Chen Yu reunited with Kane in the Outpost Ruins and learned why Kane’s group had been hiding there, as well as the Black Fang Mercenary Group’s growing power and its Bloody Scroll scheme. After hearing about a guarded warehouse near Skullcrusher Path, Chen Yu agreed with Yano to investigate it.

  • Kane recognized Chen Yu, led him and Yano to a hidden room, and explained that his group had stayed in the Outpost Ruins because the route to the Wuhan Port Merchant Alliance was dangerous and Black Fang was hunting them.
  • Yano explained the Wuhan Port Merchant Alliance’s background and strict rules for mercenaries seeking entry to its city-states.
  • Kane told Chen Yu that Black Fang had taken over local gray industries and was working with forbidden-knowledge mages, possibly Vampires, to mass-produce low-cost Bloody Scrolls.
  • Kane warned that Black Fang’s main forces and secret markets were scattered throughout the ruins and tunnels of The Gloomy Lands, beyond the reach of a simple strike at its Outpost Ruins stations.
  • One of Kane’s followers reported that Black Fang guarded a temporary warehouse near Skullcrusher Path, where newly arrived Bloody Scrolls were stored.
  • Yano proposed checking the warehouse, Chen Yu agreed, and Kane began to suspect that Yano was the adventurer who had destroyed Rusty Keys.

Ch. 141Night Raid Absurdity

Chen Yu, Yano, and Kane watched three unknown assassins raid a Black Fang warehouse and steal crates of scrolls. Yano followed them and revealed Stoneborn-like powers, leaving the assassins baffled about his identity.

  • Yano, Kane, and Chen Yu found the Black Fang warehouse guarded by sentries, a warning Magic Array, and spellcasters.
  • Three assassins killed the guards, triggered the alarm while raiding the warehouse, and fled with crates of scrolls in a horse-drawn cart.
  • Black Fang mercenaries pursued the assassins, but the three revealed their Stoneborn skin and escaped into the ruins with most of the scrolls.
  • Chen Yu sent Yano after the assassins and told Kane to return to the stronghold.
  • When an assassin attacked him, Yano caught the poisoned dagger with his hardened hand, prompting the assassins to mistake him for Henry before realizing they did not know him.
