Looking at the faintly helpless expression on Chiba's face, Minato Namikaze wore his signature gentle smile for the first time in a long while and spoke.
"I think I understand Teacher Kushina's pressure a little now."
Hearing this, Chiba sighed and said.
It was nearly dinner time. After leaving the Uchiha Clan's compound, Chiba had come straight to the Hokage's Office and given Minato Namikaze a detailed report of everything discussed with Uchiha Fugaku.
Judging by Minato Namikaze's reaction, he was clearly quite satisfied with Chiba's actions this time.
It seemed that taking Itachi under his wing was the outcome Minato Namikaze had anticipated—or perhaps exactly the outcome he wanted.
Taking Itachi as a disciple wouldn't cost me anything. With Itachi's talent, he actually won't need much teaching from me. Now that Hirohiko's matter has been resolved, one major burden has been lifted from me, and I have considerably more time.

Minato Namikaze smiled slightly and asked.
"Yes."
Chiba nodded.
"Don't waste such fine material. I believe you'll become a very good teacher."
Seeing the somewhat embarrassed look on Chiba's face, Minato Namikaze encouraged him.
"I'll do my best."
Chiba did not try to sound particularly confident. He merely said this.
"Have faith in yourself. Go make your preparations. Starting tomorrow, focus on teaching your disciple and the expansion project."
Minato Namikaze smiled again. He said nothing further
