The nurse examined the places where Chiba had been wounded when he was brought to the hospital, top to bottom. After removing the bandages and confirming that the wounds had completely healed without leaving even the slightest scar, she spoke.
Just moments ago, the emergency ward had suddenly requested discharge. Though she knew that the patient in this emergency room looked dangerous but was not actually in any danger—and was even a Medical Ninja himself, meaning that once he woke up, he was basically fine—she still dutifully conducted an examination.
After all, this child always liked to push himself too hard and never seemed to care for his own body. That was practically common knowledge among all the hospital nurses, especially Keiko, who had yet to meet the requirements for emergency ward duty.
And now that it had been confirmed, he could be discharged.
"So that means I can leave the hospital?"
Hearing the nurse's words, Chiba asked in disbelief.
"What, do you want to stay a few more days?"
The nurse nearly burst out laughing.
So this kid had gotten used to being hospitalized. Apparently, it did not count as a hospital stay unless it lasted ten days or half a month.
"Uh... no. I-I don't."
Chiba seemed to realize the problem with what he had just said and replied rather awkwardly.
The nurse did not say anything more. She simply put away the removed bandages and medical supplies, then carried them out. As she left, she reminded Chiba that once the companion handling the paperwork returned, he could leave.
After being hospitalized so many times, this was the first time he had been discharged so smoothly.
Watching the nurse leave, Chiba slowly got dressed, a strange thought passing through
