Trivial matters had piled up, with so many things hitting at once. I really had no way to update. Extremely sorry!

I should be able to resume updates tomorrow!

Thank you all for your support all this time. It has reached 1.8 million words now. Honestly, this is the first time Ling Shi has written something this long. When I first started writing Chiba, books from the same period outclassed Chiba by hundreds of streets. There was even a time when Ling Shi wanted to end it, but somehow, seeing those friends who supported me, I managed to persevere and keep writing until now.

To be honest, Chiba was originally meant to follow the usual wish-fulfillment formula, following what was popular on the market and steamrolling mindlessly all the way to the end.

But after writing the battle between Kakashi and Chiba, I felt...

This wasn't the Hokage I wanted!

Or rather, this wasn't the Hokage I wanted to portray!

Some people say I do not understand Hokage and have not read the original work. Sometimes, Ling Shi even gets a little upset. This is not bragging, but when I was writing Chiba, I had already caught up on the manga, anime, and most of the databooks. I basically scrutinized the original work closely and thought things through repeatedly when it came to certain settings. I discarded some anime-original and movie settings. Basically, unless Kishimoto personally established something in a databook, Ling Shi would not consider adding it.

Of course, fanfiction is a secondary creation, and Ling Shi could not possibly write only what existed in the original work. As for the parts that differ from the original, Ling Shi based them on extensions of the original setting.

So please do not criticize Ling Shi over these setting issues.
