Background / History
Zhou Jun first awakens as a bodiless sentient soul amid Primordial Chaos, witnessing Pangu open heaven and earth. During the process, he merges with the water and earth of the Four Symbols, absorbs drops of unknown God-and-Demon blood, and later receives creation merit as the Primordial Land's first true spirit. He also intercepts the Primordial Measuring Ruler and fragments of the Chaos Green Lotus. 1
He subsequently awakens in Wuyi Mountain's cave heaven, where he learns that he is the first Innate Earth Dragon. His origins combine Innate Four Symbols water and earth, Mysterious Yellow Qi, and God-and-Demon blood, giving him confidence that his foundation rivals reincarnated Gods and Demons. 2
After emerging from the Twelve-grade White Lotus in human form, Zhou Jun begins regulating and connecting the Primordial Land's earth veins. His work is motivated by cultivation, merit, and a desire to secure a place in a dangerous world whose future he only partially understands. 3 4
During the Ferocious Beast Calamity, Zhou Jun creates a natal clone, Daoist Dikun. The two share memories and can restore one another if either survives, but retain independent thoughts and eventually develop different expressions of the Earthly Dao. 5 57
Appearance
Zhou Jun's human form is described as tall and slender, with a handsome face, long black hair, and an ethereal aura befitting an Innate being. 3
- Can revert to his coiled Earth Dragon Body, with his head and tail joined in a circle as yin and yang energies circulate within him. 5
- His Earth Dragon form is surrounded by rising leyline energy and carries a heavy, grounded aura. 5
- In contrast, Daoist Dikun is described as more immortal-like, carrying pure energy mixed with vibrant earth spirit energy. 5
Personality
Zhou Jun is cautious, curious, and intensely motivated by survival. Having been an ordinary person in his previous life, he initially relies on foreknowledge and elaborate preparations because he fears death and believes that a single mistake in the Primordial Land could be fatal. 6 52
His caution is balanced by impulsiveness. He repeatedly pursues dangerous secrets, from the Sea of Blood to the center of Mount Zhou, and admits that he often acts on instinct without considering every consequence. Di Kun regards this tendency as the expression of Zhou Jun's primal desires. 28 59
Zhou Jun is also self-reflective. Through shared enlightenment with Di Kun, he recognizes his own arrogance, prejudice, suppressed madness, and difficulty adapting his former moral framework to the lawless Primordial Wilderness. 19
Abilities & Skills
Earthly Dao and Leyline Manipulation
Zhou Jun specializes in the Earthly Dao through solidity, bearing, suppression, and purification. He can communicate with earth veins, travel through them, repair damaged flows, and use them as a foundation for cultivation and formations. 5 7 57
- Clears blockages and reconnects damaged earth-vein networks. 4 9
- Reinforces major ancestral veins, including Mount Sumeru's earth veins. 7
- Travels rapidly beneath the ground by following earth veins. 29
- Can revert to his Earth Dragon Body while drawing leyline energy into himself. 5
- His connection to Mount Zhou can weaken during major undertakings, requiring him to borrow power through his clone. 77
Vein Condensation
A divine ability gained after strengthening the Western Land. It creates intermediate earth-vein nodes where distant or damaged veins would otherwise fail to circulate smoothly. 7
- Stabilizes leyline flow between distant nodes. 7
- Supports formations that channel spiritual qi and nurture the land. 7
- Was used to strengthen weak points in Mount Sumeru's earth veins. 7
Purification and Formations
Zhou Jun employs Creation Arrays, Purification Arrays, and leyline-based formations to process harmful energies and reshape terrain. His understanding of formations improves considerably through his investigations beneath the Primordial Land. 23 29 50
- Uses the World-Purifying White Lotus to convert Resentful Energy, Sha Qi, and Death Qi into purified energy. 23
- Can establish Creation and Purification Grand Arrays for protection within Netherworld Soil. 25
- Uses formations and feng shui methods to alter Wuyi Mountain's terrain and develop its Mountain-Protecting Formation. 50
- His Wuyi Mountain grand array can suppress and bewilder intruders, while greatly amplifying his control of local Leyline Energy. 51
Natal Clone Creation
Zhou Jun's natal clone technique creates Daoist Dikun, a being with identical memories but an independent mind. As long as either Zhou Jun or Di Kun remains alive, the other can be restored. 5
- Allows Zhou Jun and Di Kun to act in separate locations and pursue complementary plans. 5 38
- Their thoughts are usually isolated to preserve independence, but their memories and realizations can merge through their special connection. 16 19
- Their separation gradually develops into two distinct Earthly Dao paths: Di Kun emphasizes creation, life, and nurturing, while Zhou Jun emphasizes suppression and purification. 57
Pangu Resonance and Inscription
Zhou Jun's True Spirit carries an opening Dao charm absorbed during Pangu's creation of heaven and earth. At Mount Zhou, this resonates with Pangu's Dao charm and enables him to comprehend Pangu-related mysteries. 19
- Discovers Pangu Hall, Pangu's Spine, and the role of Pangu Marrow in nurturing the Ancestral Witches. 63
- Inscribes a Creation Array onto the Pangu Jade Stone formed from the Coccyx Bone. 64
- Completes the array, allowing Pangu Hall to absorb marrow and causing Pangu's Heart to awaken. 66
- Can only handle Pangu Marrow in limited amounts; Pangu Hall cannot accept more than a drop at a time under the stated conditions. 64
Abyss Creation
Using Mount Zhou's power, the Sea of Blood, the Stone Tablet, and his understanding of Creation Dao charm, Zhou Jun opens an Abyss beneath the Primordial Land. 77
- Creates a separate abyssal space intended to isolate dangerous forces from the Primordial Heaven and Earth. 67 77
- The initial new world formed during the process destabilizes as the Stone Tablet shatters. 77
- Receives the Dao title Shen Yuan from heaven and earth for opening the Abyss. 79

Story Role / Major Arcs
Restoration of the Western Land
Zhou Jun travels westward to clear and connect earth veins, defeating encountered Ferocious Beasts and collecting their corpses for later use. After restoring Mount Sumeru and strengthening the Western Land, he gains Great Dao Merit, reaches the middle stage of the Grand Unity Dao Fruit, and receives one-tenth of the West's Fortune. 4 7
Netherworld and Sea of Blood Investigation
While exploring beneath the earth, Zhou Jun discovers Rootless Water, the Blood River, the connection between the Blood Sea and the River of Oblivion, and the function of the Eighteen Levels of Hell in neutralizing resentment and Sha Qi. 25 26
He later exposes what he learns by erecting a tablet titled “Secret of the Sea of Blood.” The tablet attracts the resentments of Chaos Gods and Demons, but its eventual disappearance confirms to Zhou Jun that those forces are actively concealing the truth. 28 29
Mount Zhou and Pangu Hall
At Mount Zhou, Zhou Jun follows the earth veins into the mountain's center despite escalating attacks from Chaos God-and-Demon resentments. He discovers Pangu Hall, Pangu's Spine, and Pangu Marrow, concluding that the resentments are obstructing the marrow in order to weaken Pangu Hall and affect the birth of the Ancestral Witches. 57 63
His inscriptions on the Pangu Jade Stone enable Pangu Hall to absorb marrow and awaken Pangu's Heart, causing a tremor that accelerates the Heavenly Dao's emergence. 64 66
Civilization and Wuyi Mountain
Zhou Jun takes an interest in the development of life in the Primordial Starry Sky and in the races associated with Di Kun's creations. He recognizes that the stone records of their civilization cannot unite until their origin is recorded, then carves their history and beginning onto a Stone Tablet. 43 48
He also restructures Wuyi Mountain's earth veins and terrain, establishing a growing Mountain-Protecting Formation. The expanded Wuyi Mountain Range becomes his domain, where the grand array can repel even a Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal intruder. 50 51
Opening the Abyss
Seeking to divert Hongjun's attention and address the dangers beneath the Primordial Land, Zhou Jun opens the Abyss beneath the Sea of Blood. Though the first world he creates collapses with the Stone Tablet's shattering, heaven and earth recognize the act's benefit and grant him the Dao title Shen Yuan. 59 77 79
