When they had first heard the title Celestial, even knowing that Celestials were powerful, the Guardians of the Galaxy had no concrete understanding of them.
Only after Harry's explanation did they learn what kind of species Celestials truly were.
There was no doubt that Celestials, capable of manipulating cosmic energy to create matter, rewrite genes, and distort space-time, were no different from true gods in the eyes of mortals.
No, it was not that they were no different. They were gods to begin with!
Yet even such a powerful Celestial chose to avoid answering Star-Lord's question of whether he was stronger than Harry.
Although Ego did not directly state the answer, that attitude alone revealed a great deal.
