Harry stood over the cracked grave beneath his feet. At his summons, a small wisp of dust rose into the air and gently fell into the cauldron.
The diamond-like surface split apart, hissing and throwing sparks. The liquid turned a vivid blue, poisonous at a glance.
Harry then turned his gaze toward the nearest Death Eater and casually waved his hand. A flash of silver light cut off the Death Eater's left hand.
Amid the Death Eater's agonized screams, Harry continued without changing expression. "The flesh of a servant, willingly given, will restore your master."
Though the Death Eater hardly looked willing to offer it, Harry was unconcerned. It was only a simple ritual. With slight modifications, he could discard the sacrificer's emotions and replace the incomplete portion of the ritual with his own magic.
Temporarily erasing the mouth of the howling Death Eater so that he could make no sound, Harry looked at the cauldron, which had become a mass of boiling crimson, and held one finger over it.
A drop of blood emerged from his fingertip and fell into the cauldron.
The instant the blood touched the crimson surface, an even more powerful magical reaction erupted.
The cauldron boiled over completely. Diamond-like sparks scattered in every direction, dazzling as stars and dyeing everything around them the color of black velvet.
Harry studied the rather strange magical reaction before him and said expectantly, "The blood of an enemy, forcibly taken, will restore your foe. Though mine was not taken by force, it is still usable after being modified with Chaos Magic."
Suddenly, the sparks above the cauldron went out. A cloud of white steam rose from within, obscuring everything around it.
Through the white mist, everyone saw the figure of a man slowly rise from the cauldron.
