Surrounded by so many well-dressed gentlemen and ladies, Peter was clearly a little intimidated and instinctively shrank behind Harry.
Among the people before him were several familiar faces—celebrities often seen on television, famous lawyers, and entrepreneurs.
They were all important figures Peter had once needed to look up to, yet at today's party, they were all carefully trying to curry favor with the strangers beside them.
He was surrounded by the peak of human society's extravagance, immersed in dazzling sights and indulgence he had never seen before. How could Peter, a socially anxious high school student, not feel intimidated?
"What's wrong, nervous?" Harry teased from beside him. "You weren't this nervous when you talked to my teacher. Why are you getting timid here?"
Harry's words reminded Peter.
That was right. He hadn't panicked when speaking with the Supreme Mage, so what was there to fear now?
Even though Peter did not know the full extent of the Supreme Mage's power, just the tip of the iceberg was enough for him to know that the Supreme Mage had transcended modern society entirely.
These upper-class people clinking glasses at the party were nothing more than ordinary mortals in the Supreme Mage's eyes.
Peter took a deep breath and gradually relaxed. "Who's scared? I'm just a little carsick. Let's go—I can't wait to meet Mr. Stark!"
At that moment, a commotion rose from ahead.
Dressed in a black suit, Tony walked slowly toward Harry and Peter with two glasses of wine in hand.
Tony handed one glass of red wine to Harry. "Romanée-Conti. It tastes pretty good. You should like it."
"Thanks." Harry accepted the wine with perfect etiquette.
Although Harry did not care about aristocratic manners, that did not mean he did not know them.
He and the Supreme Mage had attended banquets many times in other dimensions.
Those banquets, hosted by ancient mages, Demon Lords, and even Dimensional Demons, had been far more luxurious than this mortal gathering, with even more cumbersome etiquette.
Naturally, Harry knew the etiquette of mortal banquets as well.
Tony looked Harry over curiously. "I thought you'd show up in those pajamas. Looks like the suit I prepared for you won't be needed after all."
Harry rolled his eyes, too lazy to respond to Tony's teasing.
At that moment, Peter gathered his courage and stood before his idol, his face bright red.
He said shakily, "Mr. Stark, I'm Peter Parker. It's nice to meet you."
Happy said, "Peter is Harry's younger brother. He's your fan and has always wanted to meet you, so I brought him along."
Tony raised an eyebrow, shook Peter's hand, and tilted his head back with exaggerated flair.
"Hey, kid, don't get too excited. Your taste in idols is much better than Harry's.
Come on, we've got plenty of time. Don't just stand around here—the girls are waiting by the pool!"
In a secluded corner of the party, a mild-looking, slightly balding man in formal attire sat on a stool, discreetly scanning his surroundings.
When he spotted Harry and Peter, his eyes lit up. Without changing his expression, he contacted his superior through a concealed earpiece.
"Director, this is Coulson. The target has appeared. Tony Stark personally greeted him. I suspect Tony Stark's escape was indeed connected to the target."
A deep, hoarse voice came through the earpiece. "Keep an eye on him. Find out what makes him special, whether he's the kind of person we're looking for.
Try to find an opportunity to speak with him. Probe him without provoking hostility, and do everything you can to recruit him."
"Yes, sir." Coulson ended the communication and headed in the direction Harry had gone.
Peter's wish had been fulfilled—he had gotten the autograph he had longed for from Mr. Stark.
Tony had signed Peter's camera.
Seeing how excited Peter was, Harry felt that he might put the camera in a glass display case afterward and preserve it instead of ever using it again.
As the star of the party, Tony was naturally the girls' favorite target. With a girl on each arm, he came over to Harry.
"What's wrong? Why are you sitting here? Come on, have some fun. All those girls are watching you. Go on—this party was prepared for you!"
Harry shook his head. "I'm fine as I am. That kind of life doesn't suit me."
Because of the education he had received since childhood, Harry was destined not to become a playboy like Tony.
Even if he could, he would not do so here. Harry took a sip of his wine. "If I wanted to live like you, perhaps those succubi, fairies, or Dragon Girls would suit me better."
As soon as he said that, the hot girls around him looked at Harry strangely, as if they were looking at an idiot.
Such a handsome young guy—what a pity his brain did not work properly.
Even so, they had no intention of leaving.
Before the party began, Tony Stark had told them that if they could make this handsome young guy happy, each of them would receive five hundred thousand dollars.
If any of them could sleep with him, they would receive one million dollars!
To them, that was a huge sum of money!
Unlike the girls, Tony knew Harry's background. With a teacher who could freely travel across the multiverse, what Harry had said was not necessarily false—it might very well have been true.
Tony suddenly lost interest and waved away the girls beside him. "There really are succubi and fairies? What do they look like?"
Thinking back to the enthusiastic fairies in the Crossroads Dimension, Harry answered, "They were all beautiful. Well, the succubi were fiery and passionate, like they were ready to devour you at any moment. The fairies were more reserved, but their unblinking stares were hard to bear too."
Tony whistled. "That sounds great. When are you taking me there? I can't wait."
Tony's thoughts were written all over his face, and Harry refused without hesitation:
"Then I'm afraid you'll be disappointed. The gravity in the Crossroads Dimension is three times that of Earth. Without powerful Magic Power Reinforcement for your body, you wouldn't even be able to move normally there. Of course, even if you could live there normally, the succubi and fairy ladies wouldn't like you. The reason they like me is the same reason the ladies here like you. I'm the Supreme Mage's disciple, a powerful mage, and wealthy in the field of magic. Believe me, fairies and succubi don't like poor people either. A dragon girl wouldn't even spare you a glance."
Tony: "..."
This was the first time anyone had called him poor, and what made him feel even worse was that he had no way to refute it.
After all, in the magical world, he really was poor.
All the wealth he possessed now was worthless in that miraculous Crossroads Dimension.
Tony was in a bad mood, but Harry's mood improved considerably.
Sure enough, happiness was constant—his own happiness was always built on someone else's suffering.
Tony made up his mind. "Harry, I want to learn magic. When can I meet the Supreme Mage?"
Although Tony's reason for learning magic was somewhat improper, Harry still answered, "My teacher is repairing a dimensional rift recently and probably won't be back for a while. But I copied several Spellbooks for you. You can study them yourself."
