Grek the goblin stared in utter shock at the scene before him.
His cunning black eyes, always darting about, were now fixed on the spot where Death had turned to ashes. His pupils had expanded until they nearly filled the whites of his eyes.
Even the tuft of grayish-brown fur at the tips of his ears stood on end from sheer shock. His goblin-silver-wrapped claws unconsciously scraped at the stone pillar beside him, leaving several shallow marks.
"This is impossible..." His voice sounded as though it had been sanded down, hoarse and trembling, while even his breathing grew rapid. "The ancestors of Gringotts said that Dimensional Demons are invincible! How could he be reduced to ashes by a wizard?"
As he spoke, he instinctively shrank back, his entire body trembling with fear.
Death's arrogant words still seemed to echo in their ears, yet in the blink of an eye, that great being capable of controlling life and death had not even left behind a trace of ash.
Lina stood beside him, her body similarly stiffening slightly.
Her hands hanging at her sides clenched tightly, her fingernails nearly digging into her palms. Her gaze shifted from the scorched ground to Harry lowering his wand, her eyes filled with dazed fear.
She opened her mouth, and only after a long while did she speak, her voice so soft it was almost a murmur:
"We were still planning to wait until both sides were badly wounded, then snatch the Invisibility Cloak.
Now it seems that if he wanted to deal with us, it would probably be easier than crushing a piece of candy."
Her gaze swept toward Harry. That figure was clearly no different from an ordinary wizard, yet in her eyes, he was more awe-inspiring than every monster in the Wizarding World.
