Harry's gaze immediately sharpened, revealing a bone-chilling coldness.
His immense mental power surged like raging waves, wantonly battering the barriers of reality in response.
Chaos Magic was like the whispers of an ancient demon god, doing everything in its power to answer its master's earnest desire.
Icy cold swept in all directions.
In the blink of an eye, the entire second floor was completely frozen over. As far as the eye could see lay a vast world of ice and snow, permeated by endless deathly silence and cold.
In but an instant, the second floor had become a frozen kingdom, yet not the slightest chill escaped. Uncle Ben and Aunt May downstairs did not sense anything amiss.
The moment the cold spread, Peter shuddered violently and instinctively moved away from Harry. However, his newly enhanced body could not evade the freezing wave at all, and he was instantly encased in ice.
The biting cold did not invade his flesh or harm his body. It merely locked down his movements completely.
He looked fearfully at the familiar brother before him. He had never seen Harry look so terrifying.
All the controllable magic within Harry's body continuously poured out, transforming into magic that isolated this icy space.
Magic boiled within Harry's body. Even some of the disorderly magic had been stirred, urging Harry to let them destroy this dimension.
Ignoring the violent magic within him, Harry coldly looked at Peter—or rather, at the invisible Web of Destiny wrapped around him.
He thawed Peter's head so that he could breathe, then asked gravely, "Peter, why is there a high-dimensional magical curse on you?"
Peter trembled as he said, "Harry, what happened? I don't know what a high-dimensional magical curse is!"
Harry frowned and put it another way. "Have you felt anything unusual or noticed any strange phenomena?"
That reminded Peter. His eyes lit up, and without a second thought, he poured out every change he had experienced recently, holding nothing back:
"This morning, I went to the nearby vegetable market to buy some groceries when a spider suddenly bit me. I didn't pay much attention to it at first. I just felt a little unwell, then came home, lay down on the bed, and fell asleep.
"When I got up just now, I discovered that my strength had become unbelievable. I easily pulled the doorknob right off, and I can even climb walls like a spider.
"Harry, I think I've mutated. I have Spider Powers!"
"Spider Powers?" Harry immediately thought of the radiation material leak, as well as the spiders mutated by radiation. "What abilities do you have?"
"So far, I've only discovered that I'm very strong, along with a sense similar to an early warning.
"Right before you tried to freeze me, I sensed it. But the freezing happened too quickly, so I couldn't dodge it.
"Oh, right. What was that high-dimensional magical curse you mentioned?"
Harry's expression was complicated, joy and anger intertwining within him.
He should have been happy that Peter had gained superpowers, but the Web of Destiny wrapped around Peter made that impossible.
Through Chaos Magic's perception, he sensed that the Web of Destiny was both a curse and a trial.
Under the influence of the Web of Destiny, one of Peter's relatives would die. At the moment of that relative's death, he would come to understand the meaning of life and truly become a hero.
Harry told Peter about it, and Peter's face went pale. He found it hard to accept.
He had just gained superpowers and become a superhuman like Harry. Perhaps he could even rely on his powers to find a girlfriend, earn some money, and narrow the gap between himself and Harry.
But why did it have to be like this?
If the price of possessing power was that one of his relatives would be cursed to death, then he would rather give up that power!
Peter quickly steeled himself again, his previous hesitation and confusion swept away. "Harry, is there a solution? Even if I have to lose my superpowers, I don't want any of you to be hurt!"
Harry broke into a brilliant smile. "Don't worry. We have a solution that gives us the best of both worlds."
Peter's eyes lit up. "What solution?"
The smile on Harry's face grew even brighter, though an unconscious trace of defiance crept into it.
"I'll use magic to forcibly fix the curse's target onto myself. I want to see whether this so-called curse is stronger than my Chaos Magic!"
"Will that work?" Peter asked worriedly.
"Relax, I've got this!"
Harry took out his wand and lightly tapped the empty space before him.
The space seemed like glass unable to bear the strain. Centered on where the wand touched, it rapidly cracked.
Crisp shattering sounds rang out in succession as cracks spread like a spiderweb.
Then the entire space shattered like a mirror, pulling both him and Peter into the Mirror Dimension.
"Don't worry, Peter. This will be over soon."
One hand wielded magic, instantly drawing several magic circles to suppress the Web of Destiny on Peter.
The other was enveloped in Chaos Magic. Scarlet, azure, grayish white, jet black, bright yellow, and countless other colors crawled across Harry's palm, making it shine like a starry sky.
Chaos Magic answered Harry's desire. That hand could now touch the concept of destiny.
He forcefully grabbed the transparent web around Peter. Amid crackling electrical sounds, he actually tore off the portion containing the curse's aura and pressed it into the endless sea of chaos.
That portion of the web was instantly suppressed by boundless Chaos Magic. From his spiritual sight, Harry saw a transparent thread connecting him to Peter.
Thus, the curse from the Web of Destiny was suppressed by an even stronger power and could only affect Harry alone.
Faced with the mysterious and unfathomable curse, Harry felt no fear. Instead, he was eager to try. "Come on, little brother. Let me see what the Web of Destiny truly is!"
But this was not the time to study the Web of Destiny. Harry dispelled the Mirror Dimension and told Peter not to tell Uncle Ben or Aunt May about this, lest they worry.
Peter nodded repeatedly like a pecking chick.
Research into the Web of Destiny went smoothly. Harry had already learned about Peter's newfound abilities from Peter himself, and with the Great Orb's help analyzing it, he soon obtained some information about the Web of Destiny:
1. The Web of Destiny searches the multiverse for hosts, grants them superpowers such as super strength, super speed, and rapid healing, then links their fates together. 2. Hosts of the Web of Destiny will eventually lose the person most important to them. 3. The farther one is from the host of the Web of Destiny, the weaker the curse becomes.
Harry looked at the third point, the corner of his lips curling as he gave a disdainful smile.
He looked at the curse being suppressed by vast amounts of Chaos Magic, looking as pitiful and delicate as a little girl, and decided he did not need to stay away from Peter to solve this problem.
With the Great Orb's processing power, the curse of the Web of Destiny could be resolved within a few months. It might even be possible to use the Web of Destiny to obtain magic that strengthened the body.
The other superpowers were one thing, but Harry was very interested in Peter's sudden warning sense.
