Background and History

Ancient era

The Great Thousand World was invaded by the Outer Realm Evil Race more than forty thousand years before the main story. The invasion corrupted roughly half of its territory with demonic qi, creating the Demon Domain and forcing its inhabitants into a prolonged defensive war. 643 658

When the world was near collapse, its will awakened and manifested the ten Original Dharma Bodies. Ten great experts led the world's living beings in resistance, recovering some territory but failing to secure victory. 658

The Immortal Great Emperor later united countless races and factions through the Great Thousand Alliance, established the Great Thousand Palace, and fought Heavenly Evil God at Northern Barren Continent. He sacrificed his life to seal Heavenly Evil God with the Great Thousand Demon Transformation Array; the battle shattered the supercontinent into the Northern Barren Hills. 659

The seal was designed to be activated every thousand years by the Great Thousand World's leading experts, gradually erasing Heavenly Evil God's life imprints over forty-nine thousand years. 659 721

Arrival of Yan Qingshan

After lifting the seal on the Dou Qi Continent and restoring its connection with the upper realm, Yan Qingshan ascended through a Spatial Passage into the Great Thousand World. Spatial turbulence and the conversion from Dou Qi to spiritual energy made the journey hazardous. 492 493

Luo Tianshen received Yan Qingshan upon his arrival and brought him to the Luoshen Clan. Yan Qingshan subsequently studied the world's cultivation methods, particularly the Spirit Soul Realm's ability to refine beast souls and obtain spirit-beast abilities. 493 494

War against the Outer Realm Evil Race

Yan Qingshan's spirit seeds became a major countermeasure against demonic qi. Once they reached minor mastery, they could suppress and refine the Evil Race's foundational demonic qi, spread through the Demon Domain, and receive support from the Great Thousand World's will. 588

After transcending time and space, Yan Qingshan returned and remade the world's relationship with its Lower Planes. He created the Chaos Yin-Yang Sea, the Starry Sky Ancient Road, and Starry Sky Ancient Cities to connect billions of planes to the Great Thousand World through a safer, structured route of ascension. 749
