Testing Difficulty

The next day, Liu Letian sat around the conference table with a grim expression.

Surrounding him were the Homeroom Teachers of the other eleven classes in the same grade.

"Everyone, I believe you've all heard about the class-transfer tests for Han Wu, Qin Shuang, and Zhang Xiaolong. The school has entrusted us with leading this test. I wonder if anyone has any thoughts?" Liu Letian began.

"What thoughts could there be? Naturally, we should thank Teacher Liu for this generous gift. Three top students transferring classes together—you're handing out benefits to the rest of us." A Homeroom Teacher who usually did not get along with Liu Letian mocked him.

Liu Letian's face turned livid. Because of Han Wu and the others transferring classes, Director of Studies Xu Mei had scolded him for half the day yesterday, and he had even lost this semester's performance bonus.

The more he thought about it, the more Liu Letian blamed all of it on Han Wu.

If Han Wu had not stubbornly insisted on transferring classes, why would Qin Shuang and Zhang Xiaolong have even entertained the idea?

"I don't care about Qin Shuang's or Zhang Xiaolong's tests. But for Han Wu's test, I demand that the difficulty be raised to the highest level. A student who shows no respect for teachers deserves severe punishment!"

"I, Liu, have never troubled everyone in the past. This time, I ask you to give me some face for the sake of our years as colleagues."

Liu Letian's words set several Homeroom Teachers thinking.

Han Wu's current performance was indeed eye-catching, but it could not conceal the disadvantage of his lack of backing.

They might as well take this opportunity to do Liu Letian a favor.

"That Heroic Lifeform did not come from his Core Kin. Don't forget, his Core Kin are still the lowest-grade locusts," Liu Letian retorted.

Every Homeroom Teacher present had their own judgment. After weighing the pros and cons, they quickly made their choices.

"Teacher Liu, what I despise most in my life are ungrateful people. I'll help with this."

"Han Wu was originally Teacher Liu's student, yet he has no gratitude for his teacher's guidance. A student like that can betray Teacher Liu today and betray everyone present tomorrow. Therefore, I believe Han Wu needs to be severely punished."

"I second the motion. Severe punishment."

Out of the twelve Homeroom Teachers, ten agreed to give Han Wu the highest-difficulty test.

Of the remaining two, one wavered and chose to abstain, while the other decisively refused to echo Liu Letian.

However, their opinions no longer mattered.

Putting Han Wu through the highest-difficulty test became an ironclad collective decision.

Not even Director of Studies Xu Mei could change it.

When class began, Han Wu, Qin Shuang, and Zhang Xiaolong were called out of the classroom.

Under Director of Studies Xu Mei's watchful gaze, Liu Letian took out three cards and handed one to each of them.

Xu Mei immediately noticed that the three cards were different.

The cards Qin Shuang and Zhang Xiaolong received bore the number "1," indicating the lowest test difficulty. They only needed to lead the kin within their Divine Realms and resist an invasion by one thousand foreign races.

Han Wu's card, however, bore the number "10," indicating the highest test difficulty.

This meant that if Han Wu wanted to pass, he would need to resist ten times as many enemies—ten thousand foreign races—and emerge victorious.

Although the foreign races assigned for the test were random, at difficulty level "10," the enemies he was matched against could not possibly be weak.

This test would inevitably be even more difficult for Han Wu than fighting the demigod Zhang Gang.

If things went badly, Han Wu's Divine Realm might even be overrun.

Director of Studies Xu Mei could not bear to see such a promising student stifled, so she spoke up. "Teacher Liu, should you reconsider Han Wu's test?"

Liu Letian replied, "This was the decision of all the Homeroom Teachers in the grade."

For a moment, Xu Mei had nothing to say.

She had no way to interfere with their collective decision.

Han Wu took the test card that belonged to him. From the exchange between Xu Mei and Liu Letian, he understood that the test he was about to face was undoubtedly hellish in difficulty.

He made no attempt to hide his disgust for Liu Letian.

Yesterday, Liu Letian had put on such a hypocritical show of trying to keep him. When that failed, he resorted to underhanded tricks. Such a person was utterly unworthy of being a teacher.

Han Wu agreed with his decision to transfer classes even more now.

Even if the test left him utterly ruined, as long as he could escape Liu Letian's control, it would be a victory to him.

Holding their test cards, Han Wu and the other two arrived at the Divine Realm Landers.

Qin Shuang naturally saw that Han Wu was being targeted. Before entering the Divine Realm Lander, she said to him, "My offer still stands. As long as you become my slave, I guarantee that no one in the entire school except me will be allowed to bully you."

Han Wu smiled faintly. "I appreciate the kindness. See you after the test."

With that, Han Wu was the first to enter a Divine Realm Lander.

Qin Shuang stamped her foot in anger and muttered, "You really don't know what's good for you."

As she spoke, she climbed into a Divine Realm Lander as well.

Zhang Xiaolong witnessed the entire exchange, his eyes dark and gloomy, before he too entered a Divine Realm Lander.

As the three entered the Divine Realm Landers, the students and teachers alike activated spectator mode.

Qin Shuang and Zhang Xiaolong's tests were nothing worth watching. A thousand foreign invaders were swiftly wiped out beneath the charge of their Core Kin.

The two passed their tests without a hitch.

Han Wu's test, however, showed no result for a long while.

That was because the foreign invaders who had entered his divine domain numbered not one thousand, but ten thousand.

And the invading race was the Red Goblin clan—Elite Lifeforms through and through.

Inside the divine domain, Han Wu's breathing quickened when he saw ten thousand Red Goblin Elite Lifeforms pouring through the portal.

To Han Wu, Red Goblins were even more troublesome than demigod Zhang Gang's Wolf Riders.

This was because Red Goblins possessed an innate trait: fire resistance.

With this trait, Red Goblins could withstand higher temperatures, and Fire Attribute attacks would deal drastically reduced damage to them.

Yet Han Wu's trump card was the Bursting Locusts' Lava Self-Destruct.

Liu Letian, watching in spectator mode, wore a continual cold sneer. "Han Wu, blame yourself for rejecting my goodwill. An army of ten thousand Red Goblins is more than enough to punch straight through your divine domain!"

Some Homeroom Teachers on good terms with Liu Letian were already congratulating him in advance. "Teacher Liu, congratulations on finally avenging your great grievance."

"Ah, how could there be any grudge between teacher and student? After this test, student Han Wu will surely understand the painstaking intentions of us teachers." Liu Letian replied hypocritically.

Director of Studies Xu Mei had no time to look at Liu Letian's false face. Her gaze remained fixed on Han Wu's divine domain.

She hoped Han Wu could bring her another miracle.

As the army of ten thousand Red Goblins invaded the divine domain, a great battle was on the verge of erupting.
