Everyone's eyes turned toward the figure seated at the edge of the head of the table, his right eye and right arm wrapped in bandages.
Danzo!
If anyone in Konoha had done it, there was no need to wonder. It had to be him.
He had both the strength and the nerve to do something like this.
"This has nothing to do with me!"
Seeing everyone looking at him, Danzo snapped an irritated explanation.
He really had not done this.
He had only rushed over to join the meeting after receiving the news. Who knew so many people would suspect him?
However.
A single explanation like that could never dispel everyone's suspicions.
"Root does not have that kind of strength!"
Hiruzen Sarutobi spoke up in his defense.
With Root's power, it was impossible for them to silently dispose of a "Strongest Kazekage."
The Third Kazekage was no sham like the Fourth Kazekage. That was why he had earned the title of "Strongest Kazekage," rather than being praised into the title of Strongest Hokage by some monkey. (Hiruzen Sarutobi: Just say my name!)
Not to mention that he had left under the protection of Sunagakure's elite forces.
If Root truly had that kind of strength, Danzo would have become Hokage long ago. Why would he be content with being an Advisor Elder?
Even so, everyone still suspected Danzo.
It could not be helped.
Whenever something went wrong, there was at least a fifty-percent chance that he had caused it. If they did not suspect him, who else were they supposed to suspect?
"This should be related to Sunagakure," a young ninja with a pineapple head suddenly said. "The fact that they only sent a letter demanding answers means they have no evidence. And the Sunagakure elites who
