This was bad!
The first thought that arose in the Arbiter's mind upon hearing Sin's voice was that he might have said something wrong.
In a sense, he was a double agent.
Although he had temporarily cooperated with Lu Ce for special reasons, the deal between him and Sin could never be known to the gods.
But he could not truly be loyal to Sin either. Some of the things he had told the gods could not be allowed to reach Sin's ears.
In the heat of his battle with War, he had let slip something he should not have said, giving Sin something to seize on.
From past experience, whenever Sin gained even the slightest advantage, he would pursue it relentlessly and keep expanding it.
Before he could say anything to patch things up, War, who had just been relentlessly attacking him with a spear, stopped.
"You're quite confident, thinking we've been discussing behind your back how to deal with you? You really dare to imagine things."
From War's perspective, what Lu Ce had just said was so arrogant that he could not help but laugh.
In the Arbiter's memory, this might have been the first time he had ever laughed.
But this was wrong! The Arbiter wanted to stop him from continuing, but it was already too late.
"Rather, the few of us have indeed discussed for quite some time how to divide up prey like you."
"But rest assured, since you've made it this far, I will definitely let you die by my hand. That is the glory you deserve."
Judging by his tone, he seemed quite serious, as though he truly believed this was an honor he was granting Lu Ce.
It made sense. Dying in war did sound more heroic than other ways of dying.
