Sudden Demons (15)

Over the next few days, Ang led the troops in continued operations throughout the mountainous region.

They soon discovered four temporary demon camps similar to the one in the mountain fissure. Each was hidden extremely well—either in natural caves behind cliffs or in underground passages disguised as beast dens.

Drawing on their steadily accumulated combat experience and familiarity with the terrain, Ang and the others eliminated those hideouts one by one.

Every demon they discovered was killed. Not a single one escaped.

"Ang, we've taken out nearly a thousand demons over the past few days," Dana said while clearing the battlefield, her tone filled with incredulous amazement.

Her words drew the attention of the nearby soldiers, and startled exclamations rose one after another.

"That many?" a mage could not help asking. "Where did all these demons come from?"

Standing atop a boulder, Ang looked over the endless mountain ranges in the distance and said steadily, "There should still be demons hiding deeper inside, or perhaps their main force hasn't appeared yet."

Someone suggested, "My lord, we've entered lizardman territory. They know these mountains and forests well. Should we ask them to assist us?"

Ang nodded. "That's a good idea. Inform the lizardmen and have them send people to assist with the operation."

Three days later, a large group of Lizardman Warriors arrived at the mountainous front with heavy, powerful footsteps, numbering several thousand.

Leading them was the lizardman who had dealt with Ang before and could speak fluent Imperial language.

"Lord Count," the lizardman said with a slight bow, his voice low and hoarse. "We have brought the elites of our tribe. How would you like us to cooperate?"

Ang nodded and took out a hand-drawn map covered in markings, spreading it over a rock. "Can you understand this map?"
