Before long, the two arrived at the entrance to the Magic Prison.
A heavy iron gate stood before them, embedded with intricate Rune Arrays. Faint pulses of magic flowed along the stone walls.
The guards immediately straightened at the sight of Ang, dropping to one knee in salute. "My lord."
Ang merely waved a hand, signaling them to withdraw.
Then he turned, his gaze falling on Amel behind him. The corner of his mouth lifted slightly, and though his tone seemed casual, it carried an indescribable weight. "Miss Amel, this warehouse is no ordinary warehouse."
"It holds all the spoils I've acquired so far... including the things we brought back from the God-Demon Battlefield."
"Spoils from the God-Demon Battlefield..." Amel's heart stirred, and a glimmer flashed through her eyes.
She had thought she already had Ang wrapped around her finger. Hearing this, she grew even more pleased with herself. It seems my charm really worked. He actually brought me here so easily.
With a smile on her lips, she said softly, "Then I'll have to trouble Count Ang to show me your spoils. I really would like to know what you men enjoy collecting."
Ang did not reply. With a calm expression, he pushed open the heavy iron gate and entered first.
Amel followed lightly behind him, the hem of her dress dragging across the stone floor with a faint rustle.
The guards at the entrance watched her retreating back, their hearts filled with confusion. This was clearly a prison for dangerous mages. Since when had it become a "warehouse"?
Still, they did not dare question Ang and could only suppress their doubts.
The moment Amel crossed the threshold, an icy force enveloped her entire body.
