"Marquis Ange was certainly straightforward." Adrian smiled faintly, though a trace of appraisal flashed in his eyes.
"Second Highness, what are you usually responsible for?" Ang asked with interest, his tone half-serious and half-joking. "Could it be that, like First Highness, you are also in charge of the Empire's Plane Expansion War?"
Adrian was about to answer when Ang raised a hand to stop him and smiled. "No rush. Come, come, let's sit down and talk."
The two princes exchanged a look. Their smiles remained unchanged, but inwardly, they could not help cursing. This marquis really has no sense of etiquette. He knows we are imperial princes, yet he waited until now to invite us to sit.
After the three took their seats, Adrian slowly said, "Of the three of us brothers, only our third brother chose the path of a mage. Unlike my elder brother and me, who both took the warrior's path."
"So, the authority over Plane Wars is mostly decided jointly by the two of us and His Majesty. We also usually help Father Emperor bear his burdens and mediate among the Empire's great nobles."
As he spoke, he appeared relaxed, but his tone carried a barely perceptible hint of pride.
Ang nodded slightly and said earnestly, "You stand at the very top of the Empire, after all. Naturally, you should work hard for the Empire's people."
The two brothers were both stunned by those words.
It was not as though they had never heard flattery before, but few had ever admonished them from such a perspective.
Ang's tone did not sound flattering. It sounded more like heartfelt sincerity.
Olgart was the first to react. His gaze darkened, and his voice carried a trace of respect. "Marquis Ange's words are full of wisdom. They are truly admirable."
