Along the way, Ang and the other students saw nothing but thick, towering trees, their branches and leaves so dense they nearly blotted out the sky. So when they suddenly came upon a town-like camp deep within the rainforest, they were truly stunned. The sight was far beyond anything they had imagined. Ang recalled a conversation with Instructor Nicholas during the journey. He had once asked curiously why they did not carve out a dedicated road through the rainforest, which would both make travel easier and generate profit through tolls.
Instructor Nicholas had merely smiled and explained, "Didn't you look down upon the vast Santa Cruz Rainforest from the airship? This rainforest spans three provinces. Carving out a dedicated road through it would be nearly impossible. Besides, adventurers can enter the rainforest from anywhere. They have no need for a fixed route. And developing a road is far more difficult than you imagine."
Nicholas paused, then turned to ask everyone, "Have you noticed what is different about this rainforest besides the ordinary elements?" Seeing the students remain silent, Nicholas smiled faintly and continued, "Life. The life element here far surpasses that of other places. In this rainforest, nearly every inch of land is filled with the power of life. The path we have been walking was not opened by human hands. It is a natural trail worn down by countless people before us. It is only because people constantly walk this path that the plants have not completely covered and occupied it. Otherwise, the power of life would quickly allow the rainforest to swallow these paths again."
After hearing his instructor's explanation, Ang looked back at the path they had just traveled. It truly did not resemble a proper road, but rather a gap nature had reluctantly allowed people to
