The tent fell silent for a moment.
"Viscount Ange, you know as well as I do that pioneering is no easy matter. A lesser noble like me truly cannot bear the burden alone." Jennings spoke with a hint of helplessness, yet his tone remained sincere.
Ang gave no response. He simply stood where he was, his expression as still as water, a flicker of vigilance and thought passing through his eyes.
Seeing that he still had not stated his position, Jennings seemed to grow anxious. He lowered his voice and stepped closer. "My lord Viscount, have you heard of the Crimson Armor Swordsman Corps of Agnis Province?"
Ang raised an eyebrow slightly, confusion flashing through his eyes, but he patiently nodded. "Of course I have heard of the Crimson Armor Swordsman Corps. They are the strongest enchanted armament swordsman corps under the Grand Duke of Agnis, renowned for their countless military achievements, superb swordsmanship, and exceptional discipline. Among warriors who follow the swordsman path, almost no one is unfamiliar with them."
"Then don't you think... the soldiers under your command are a little too ordinary?" Jennings's words fell like bait, whether deliberately or not.
Ang's gaze darkened, and his tone cooled slightly. "I am no Great Noble. It is only natural that my troops are ordinary. If you have nothing else to say, please leave."
With that, he rose directly, clearly having no intention of speaking further with Jennings.
"Please wait!" Jennings hurriedly called out, anxiety flashing in his eyes. "I have the Crimson Armor Swordsman Corps' training manual. As long as Viscount Ang is willing to accept me into the pioneer force, I will offer this manual to you unconditionally!"
Ang's steps paused. He stood with his back to Jennings for several breaths before ultimately deciding not to leave.
