Ang watched their receding figures, unable to keep his heart from growing heavy. Just then, Professor Todd walked over, patted him on the shoulder, and said gently, "Ang, they have to grow up eventually. They came here for training, so you have to trust them too. Professor Todd's words gave Ang a jolt. Thinking back on his arrangements, he realized he had indeed been too meticulous, shouldering nearly everything himself. Ang sighed inwardly, realizing that he had not yet fully adapted to this role and lacked a clear understanding of war's complexity. He knew he needed to learn to let go and allow them to stand on their own. Even so, he still wanted to protect them as much as possible, at least so that they could all survive.
After steadying himself, Ang decided to visit Baroness Ilsa. When he saw her, he got straight to the point. "Baroness, I've already sent people to keep watch. But everyone knows how powerful the Demons are. Does Latvia have any resources that could help us?"
