Konoha, Year 25

9:30 p.m.

The sun had long since sunk below the horizon, but Hokage Rock could still be made out in the darkness.

The streets had already grown sparse, yet the air still retained traces of the earlier bustle. All of Konoha radiated a peaceful atmosphere. The breeze carried a faint chill.

Uchiha Chen walked silently down the street. He was alone, dressed in the Uchiha Clan's distinctively flashy windbreaker.

As he walked, he quietly pondered his own affairs.

It had already been five years since Uchiha Chen had transmigrated into the world of Naruto.

Unfortunately, his father had already died when he arrived, while his mother had passed away from grief shortly after giving birth to him.

Starting out with both parents dead and relying entirely on looting for equipment—this was probably talking about someone like him.

It had taken him several months to learn that this was the Naruto world, a place where survival had no guarantees and human lives were worth less than dogs.

What rotten luck.

The Naruto world was not some tender, heartwarming place. Not only did it have all kinds of ninjutsu and slaughter, it had also witnessed several Ninja World Wars.

Even more terrifyingly, just when you were preparing to quietly develop and coast into the late game, you would discover in horror that Jonin were suddenly everywhere and Kage Level fighters were running all over the place.

And how many people could actually live safely into the late game?

Without the destiny of a protagonist, surviving here was truly dangerous.

Originally, with the mindset of a transmigrator, Uchiha Chen could have continued muddling along with the idea of being content with modest prosperity.

He just needed to coast.

At most, he could lie low until the ending.

After all, there were Naruto and Sasuke.

But things never went as one wished.

Uchiha Chen had planned to learn ninjutsu, drink wine, eat hot pot, and sing songs, but who knew reality would suddenly rob him blind.

Because he had discovered that his surname was Uchiha.

Whenever he thought of Itachi, who would be born more than ten years later, Uchiha Chen felt the urge to head next door to the clan head's house and kill Uchiha Fugaku.

Fine, he still could not beat Fugaku.

Even without Itachi massacring the clan, he still would not be able to coast through life.

Because Uchiha Chen had discovered that his deceased father was named Uchiha Kagami.

What a bloody melodramatic identity.

Uchiha Kagami had been the Second Hokage's disciple. He had belonged to the same generation as the Third Hokage. Yet he had only lived to twenty-five.

Take note: twenty-five!

The brothers who had once gone out into the world together were now either leaders of villages, the root of Konoha, or, at worst, two High Advisors.

Yet Kagami had died on a mission shortly before Uchiha Chen was born.

More importantly, Uchiha Kagami had a famous descendant—Uchiha Shisui.

There was an age gap between Kagami and Shisui. Therefore, Shisui could not possibly be Kagami's son.

Uchiha Kagami had only one son: Uchiha Chen.

After eliminating all the impossible options, the remaining option, no matter how impossible it seemed, had to be the truth.

So this could only mean one bizarre thing: Shisui was Uchiha Chen's son...

What the actual fuck.

Could you imagine suddenly having a son for no reason at all?

And in the manga, Shisui was an orphan.

Did that not mean Uchiha Chen would also die young, just like his old man Uchiha Kagami?

Uchiha Chen sighed.

This kind of thing seemed to be fashionable these days. If someone's background did not have a few twists and turns, they seemed too embarrassed to make their way in the world.

That would not do.

So over the past five years, ever since his body had become capable of it, Uchiha Chen had begun basic training in taijutsu, shuriken, and Hand Seals.

He could not become a salted fish.

Even a salted fish had to turn over.

That thought had always sustained Uchiha Chen.

Fortunately, his father Uchiha Kagami had carried out many S-rank missions and left him a considerable fortune. Coupled with the monthly orphan relief payments from Konoha, his life had been fairly comfortable.

Thank goodness.

He was very glad Konoha had not embezzled his inheritance. Otherwise, he could only have been like Naruto, drinking expired milk every day and unable to afford even a bowl of ramen...

Thanks to the Land of Fire, thanks to Konoha, thanks to the Hokage, thanks to the organization...

Of course, although he had never studied tai chi and was not some special forces soldier, he still had the standard transmigrator's cheat for killing, looting, and reaching the peak of life—the Ninja System.

Unfortunately, this unreliable system had appeared once when he extracted chakra at the age of four, then never gave him any guidance again.

Am I only worthy of being unlucky?

Later, through experimentation, he discovered that as long as he trained diligently, he could earn Ninja Points. This training included taijutsu, shuriken, and even studying.

For example, after returning from training just now, he heard a voice by his ear. "Host diligently ran two hundred laps. Ninja Points +10."

Although Uchiha Chen did not know what Ninja Points were used for, the system would reveal the answer sooner or later.

Sure enough, a voice suddenly sounded beside his ear.

"Host points have reached 2,000. The panel will now be activated."

Uchiha Chen could hardly wait. He immediately quickened his pace and returned home.

He had waited a long time for this day.

My foolish system!

Uchiha Chen's home was located in a relatively remote part of the Uchiha Clan district. After his parents died, the clan took back the large house they had lived in. He had been driven into a rather dilapidated little house.

Although the house was old and rundown, it was still fairly clean inside.

"I'm back."

Uchiha Chen entered the house and spoke to the portraits of his parents on the wall. Though there was no one else in the house, he had gotten used to doing this.

He quickly shut the door and ran to his bed.

Uchiha Chen silently called up the panel and said anxiously, "System, are you there? What are Ninja Points for? Tell me quickly, I'm in a hurry! System bro."

The system displayed text: "Free query mode will now be activated. The Host may conduct any query and freely operate this system through brainwaves."

A three-dimensional interface suddenly appeared before Uchiha Chen's eyes, a virtual interface visible only to him.

System Interface: Host Uchiha Chen Land of Fire Age: 5 Comprehensive Strength Index: Ordinary Student Chakra Level 2 (0/1000) Taijutsu Level 2 (0/1000) Shuriken Level 2 (0/1000) Hand Seals Level 2 (0/1000) Ninjutsu Level 0 (0/100) Genjutsu Level 0 (0/100) Wind Release Level 0 (0/100) Fire Release Level 0 (0/100) Lightning Release Level 0 (0/100) Water Release Level 0 (0/100) Earth Release Level 0 (0/100) Yang Release Level 0 (0/100) Yin Release Level 0 (0/100) Remaining Ninja Points: 0

Ninja Points could be assigned to any attribute. As an attribute's level increased, the Host's actual combat ability in that attribute would increase accordingly.

Attribute levels were set as follows:

Level 0: Scrub Level Level 1: Beginner Level Levels 2–4: Ninja Academy Student Levels 5–7: Genin Levels 8–10: Chunin Levels 11–13: Jonin Levels 14–16: Kage Level Levels 17–19: Super Kage Level Level 20 and above: How lonely it is to be invincible. (In theory, this level has already transcended the scope of ninja.)

To help the Host understand this system's settings, some reference examples from the real Shinobi World are provided below, using taijutsu as an example:

Level 0 (Scrub Level): A true scrub. The state of ordinary people. Level 1 (Beginner Level): Trash whose taijutsu is slightly better than ordinary people. The level immediately after extracting chakra. Levels 2–4 (Student Level): Taijutsu has reached the level of an ordinary Ninja Academy student. Level 2: The level of someone who has just entered the Ninja Academy. Level 3: Already a powerful big shot within the Ninja Academy. Level 4: Absolute overlord status within the Ninja Academy, already close to the level of an ordinary Genin. Levels 5–7 (Genin Level): Taijutsu mastery has reached Genin Level. Cannon fodder of the Shinobi World. Level 5: The lowest-level newbie among Genin. Level 6: Already considered capable cannon fodder among Genin. Level 7: Already an exceedingly rare existence among Genin. Levels 8–10 (Chunin Level): Refers to more advanced ninja whose taijutsu has reached Chunin Level. Can be considered mid-tier combat power. Levels 11–13 (Jonin Level): Ninja with exceedingly rare taijutsu prowess. Considered high-end combat power for a village. Levels 14–17 (Kage Level): Taijutsu mastery has reached master level. Levels 17–19 (Super Kage Level): Can already be called the strongest in terms of taijutsu. Level 20 and above: There are currently no reference examples in ninja history. Non-human ninja are excluded from discussion.
