"Of course it's true. My neighbor's second uncle's niece's distant aunt's son is in Root. He personally performed Danzo's surgery."

Similar conversations spread through Konoha's streets and alleys like a virus.

At first, only a few people with ulterior motives were spreading it, but before long, everyone in Konoha knew.

Later, the rumor grew increasingly distorted. Danzo conducting Human Experimentation and implanting Wood Release and the Sharingan became Danzo absorbing the Kekkei Genkai of every major clan in Konoha...

How could this be tolerated? A heinous villain like that had to be beaten to death immediately.

That was public opinion. Once unleashed, it quickly became a ferocious tiger, beyond anyone's control.

Even if the truth was clarified in the end, the damage caused in the process could never be repaired.

Of course, while things turning out this way was partly due to the uncontrollable nature of public opinion, then again, if someone accused the Third Hokage like this, would anyone believe it?

Of course not.

Over the years, Danzo had done too many things
