From a certain perspective, Chen faced enormous difficulty in becoming Hokage.

Unlike the Third Hokage back then, Sarutobi Hiruzen's greatest obstacle to becoming Hokage had been his lack of prestige and military accomplishments.

Even with the Second Hokage's appointment, Sarutobi Hiruzen had still needed several years to ascend to the position of Hokage.

During the Second Great Ninja War, Chen had earned military achievements second only to the Sannin and the White Fang. At the time, he had only been eleven or twelve.

During the Third Great Ninja War, he had moved through four war zones. Aside from directly clashing with Hidden Cloud Village, he had fought against every other village.

He truly deserved to be called the man with the greatest military achievements!

But becoming Hokage required more than sufficient strength and prestige. Although there was a Jonin voting system, in the end, it still depended on the Third Hokage's wishes.

If he chose one of the Sannin, then Chen, as someone of the next generation, could not possibly become the Fourth Hokage.

After all, two of the Sannin could be considered Chen's teachers, and he himself was still young. It would not have been excessive to consider him as a candidate for Fifth Hokage instead.

But things were just that damn absurd. Not a single one of the Sannin was willing to inherit the position of Fourth Hokage.

There was no need to mention Tsunade. After the Konoha Crush Plan ended, she left the village once again.

Could it be that she did not know Konoha had reached the time for a change in leadership?

It was simply that Tsunade did not care at all.

Hokage... was that so special?
