Background / History

Tang San initially appears as a Level 29 Blue Silver Grass Soul Master travelling with Xiao Wu. At the Rose Hotel, he challenges Dai Mubai over a room and insists on standing in front of Xiao Wu because he has promised to protect her. Despite using Blue Silver Grass and Tang Sect techniques, he is defeated by Dai Mubai. 3 4

His early setbacks continue at the Soul Arena. Zhu Zhuqing defeats him once through overwhelming speed and close-range dagger combat, then defeats him again after neutralizing his Hidden Weapons and overpowering his Mysterious Jade Hand. Tang San’s injuries delay his breakthrough to Rank 30. 15 17 19

Tang San possesses Twin Martial Souls: Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer. Xu Yichen identifies the former as an unawakened Blue Silver Emperor and tells Xiao Wu that Tang San is connected to Tang Hao and the Hundred-Thousand-Year Blue Silver Emperor. Tang Hao later tells Tang San that his mother was a Blue Silver Emperor and that Xiao Wu was also a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast. 28 82

After finding the remains of his mother, Tang Yin, and the ruined Blue Silver Forest, Tang San’s distrust of Tang Hao deepens. Tang Hao trains him in Clear Sky Sect secret techniques and directs him to seek revenge against Spirit Hall and reclaim the sect’s inherited spirit bones. 83 84

While fleeing toward the Star Luo Empire, Tang San kills Tang Hao and uses his transformed Eight Spider Lances to drain his father’s Soul Power and life force. The act raises him to Level 40, changes his hair, eyes, and external soul bone blood-red, and establishes soul-power absorption as his preferred means of rapid growth. 115

After his expulsion from Slaughter City, Tang San accepts the Bloodthirsty God King’s divine inheritance. His growing use of blood, poison, Soul Power absorption, and divine power causes Spirit Hall and Angel Academy to classify him as an Evil Soul Master; this accusation becomes the pretext for their attack on the Clear Sky Sect. 237 257 260 265

Tang San later recruits Dai Mubai as an ally against Angel Academy. Together they assault and destroy Slaughter City, with Tang San using poison, Hidden Weapons, and a Clear Sky Hammer empowered by divine power. 332 335 336

Upon completing the tenth divine trial, Tang San briefly becomes a god. The Bloodthirsty God King then exploits the God of Devotion’s sacrificial ability to seize Tang San’s divine power, devour his soul, and take possession of his body. 345

Early on, Tang San is protective of Xiao Wu and confident in his martial soul despite Blue Silver Grass being dismissed as weak. He refuses to let Xiao Wu fight Dai Mubai alone and presents himself as her protector. 3

His defeats, losses, and pursuit by major factions turn this protectiveness into obsessive revenge. He becomes increasingly contemptuous of weakness, willing to kill opponents, drain their Soul Power, and sacrifice others for rapid advancement.
