Green Mountain Town.
Wolf Head Mercenary Group headquarters.
A somewhat spacious and luxurious carriage slowly arrived and stopped on the street outside the main gate.
Under the watchful eyes of the gatekeeping mercenaries, the coachman driving the carriage turned pale. His hands trembling, he knocked on the carriage door. "Y-Young Master, w-we're here."
Creak~
The carriage door opened, and Wei Yang stepped out.
Turning back, he looked at Ye Xian'er, who sat inside with a still-pale face but forced herself to remain composed. He said gently, "Wait for me a moment. I'll be back soon."
"Mm." Ye Xian'er nodded, tightening her slender hand. "Be careful."
"Ha." Wei Yang smiled. "Don't worry."
Closing the carriage door, Wei Yang turned around and glanced at the coachman. "Wait here."
"U-Understood." The coachman wiped the cold sweat from his forehead.
Jumping down from the carriage, Wei Yang strode toward the gates of the Wolf Head Mercenary Group.
"You, who are you looking for?" a gatekeeper asked suspiciously.
Wei Yang grinned. "Your commander."
Inside the spacious hall.
Mu She, the commander of the Wolf Head Mercenary Group, sat uneasily in the seat of honor. He held a teacup in his hand without drinking from it, his brows tightly furrowed.
After a moment, Mu She raised his head and shouted, "Someone!"
A mercenary hurried inside. "Commander."
"Where is the young commander?" Mu She asked.
The instant he asked that question, Mu She's heart jolted. An inexplicable unease suddenly welled up within him, making his expression turn ugly.
"Reporting to the commander, the young commander took a group of brothers out early this morning. He said he was going to give someone trouble," the mercenary answered carefully.
For some reason, Mu She's unease only grew stronger upon hearing this, making him increasingly irritable. He demanded, "Where did they go?"
"He said they went outside town." Sweat beaded on the mercenary's forehead.
"Go at once and tell him to get his ass back here immediately!" Mu She ordered coldly, his gaze gloomy.
"Understood." The mercenary hurriedly agreed and turned to leave.
"Wait. Take Third Commander Hemon with you, and bring some men," Mu She added.
"Yes."
Just then.
Bang!
"Ah~"
A faint commotion came from outside, accompanied by sounds of fighting and miserable screams.
"Damn it, what's going on outside?"
Already in a foul mood, Mu She flew into a rage. He crushed the teacup in his hand and roared furiously.
Very soon.
"Commander~"
"Commander, this is bad! Someone has broken in! That person is very strong. Many of our brothers have been killed or injured!" A mercenary rushed in, shouting his report.
"What? Someone broke in? Broke in here?" Mu She was stunned at first, then nearly laughed from anger.
Where was this?
The headquarters of the Wolf Head Mercenary Group!
Someone actually dared to cause trouble here?
"Y-Yes."
"Who came? How many people?" Mu She rose to his feet.
"J-Just one. A-a young man," the reporting mercenary stammered fearfully.
Bang!
Mu She's face flushed red, his chest heaving violently. With one palm strike, he shattered the table before him and roared, "One? A young man? He broke into our headquarters? Are you all dead? Where is Hemon?"
The moment Mu She finished speaking.
Boom!
A figure flew in like a torn sack, smashing through a row of tables and chairs before lying still.
Mu She took a closer look. Good heavens, wasn't this the Third Commander, Hemon, his own trusted subordinate?
At this moment, the Seven-star Dou Zhe Third Commander had already breathed his last.
Mu She's heart lurched. It was as though a basin of cold water had been dumped over his head, and he immediately calmed down.
How long had it been?
From the moment he first heard the commotion until now... two minutes?
Two minutes!
The intruder had fought his way from the main gate to this place?
And had even casually killed his capable subordinate, Third Commander Hemon?
At that thought, Mu She abruptly looked toward the hall entrance.
There, a handsome young man dressed in black walked in with his hands clasped behind his back, his steps unhurried and steady.
Young.
That was Mu She's first impression. He was far younger even than Mu Li, Mu She's own son.
At most fifteen or sixteen?
"May I ask who you are, sir?" Mu She calmed himself, forcing a smile as he asked amicably.
He had no choice but to be amicable.
He already vaguely understood that the Wolf Head Mercenary Group might have kicked an iron plate this time.
Mu She was a man who had seen the world.
Someone so young yet possessed of such formidable strength surely had an astonishing background. As a one-star Dou Shi, Mu She simply could not afford to provoke him.
"Dead men have no need to know my name." Wei Yang walked to the center of the hall and casually kicked away the mercenary who had rushed in to report.
Boom!
Crash~
The weapon rack collapsed.
The reporting mercenary was pinned beneath the fallen weapon rack, dead or alive unknown.
"You!"
Anger flashed across Mu She's face, but he took a deep breath and forcibly suppressed the rage rising within him. Squeezing out a stiff smile, he said, "May I ask how our Wolf Head Mercenary Group has offended you? Please speak plainly. Perhaps this is a misunderstanding?"
"It's too late for explanations now."
Wei Yang shook his head. "I told you before that the price for causing me trouble was very high, yet you insisted on refusing to listen."
"I just killed your son. Now I've come to kill you. A family should be together, nice and complete. Otherwise, I won't feel at ease."
Mu She's eyes instantly turned red. His voice trembled. "Y-You killed my son?"
Wei Yang nodded.
Die!
Mu She suddenly let out an enraged roar. With a flip of his hand, a dark silver saber appeared in his palm. He stamped his foot, shattering the floor.
His body shot forward, and the saber in his hand came crashing down toward Wei Yang's head.
Wind Blade Dance! Mu She roared inwardly.
One after another, azure saber phantoms continuously appeared above Wei Yang's head.
They formed a dense net of blades in the air.
Die, die, die! You little bastard, I don't care who you are—just die! Mu She's eyes were bloodshot as he sneered inwardly.
Wind Blade Dance was the highest-grade Dou Technique he could wield.
Mysterious Tier Low-Grade.
It was precisely because of this Dou Technique that he had earned the title of strongest in Green Mountain Town. Even opponents of the same level, or even one or two stars above him, were no match for him.
All of them had fallen before this move.
Now, faced with this powerful young man of unknown origin, the cautious Mu She went all out from the very start.
Wei Yang looked up, sensing the saber light chopping down at him and the sharp force of the wind it tore through the air.
"Nothing but flashy tricks." He lightly raised his hand. In his palm, the deep crimson Dou Qi that had been gathering for some time was already poised to strike.
Then he pushed his palm forward, seemingly giving the countless saber lights before him a gentle, slow shove.
In truth, however, it was so fast that only an afterimage remained in the air, creating an illusion.
Mad Lion's Roar!
A deep crimson energy lion, faintly tinged with pale gold, appeared in the air. An incomparably powerful aura surged forth alongside the majesty of a lion king, striking fear into the hearts of all.
Mighty and domineering!
The energy lion opened its mouth.
Roar~
A violent lion's roar suddenly erupted through the hall, like thunder exploding beside one's ears and resounding throughout this small world.
"Not good!" Mu She's pupils shrank, his expression changing instantly as a trace of terror flashed deep within his eyes.
At that instant, he smelled death.
I'll die! That was Mu She's final thought before his consciousness sank into endless darkness.
Boom!
Mu She's body exploded in midair, turning into fragments that scattered everywhere.
A deep crimson semicircular energy shockwave spread forward. Wherever it passed, the floor tiles exploded one after another.
The scorching energy swept through the hall, causing its temperature to soar madly. Even the surrounding space appeared somewhat blurred and distorted.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The tremendous explosions nearly tore the entire hall apart.
Massive cracks spread across the ground like a spiderweb, extending all the way to the distant walls. After trembling slightly, the walls began to crack as well.
"No!"
At this point, only one mercenary remained standing in the hall—the very first mercenary Mu She had ordered to find the young commander. Unfortunately, he had not managed to leave before Wei Yang blocked him inside the hall, and he suffered this undeserved calamity.
He had hidden in a corner of the hall, but he still failed to escape disaster.
As the shockwave spread toward him, the intense pressure and scorching heat in the air, along with the aura of death, made him let out a desperate howl.
Then the ripples of the energy shockwave swept over him.
It was as though he had been struck and sent flying by a magical beast. Who knew how many bones throughout his body had broken? Blood poured from his seven orifices, and his body became embedded in the wall.
