Background

Several centuries before serving Wei Yang, Ah Da was a newly advanced Dou Venerate searching the continent for opportunities. While traversing the void beyond the Southeast Continent's Endless Sea Domain, he forcibly entered a Void Storm and was swept into an unknown region of space. There, he discovered the Void Meteorite Ruins, an ancient ruin protected from further Void Storms by an unknown force 227 864.

Ah Da spent nearly ten years exploring the ruins, gaining cultivation methods, Soul Techniques, and resources while advancing to the Eight-star Dou Venerate realm. He could not open the ruin's central Bronze Great Hall and eventually returned to the Dou Qi Continent 228 865.

He later reached Nine-star Peak Dou Venerate and prepared to enter the First Turn, but an ambush by his enemies destroyed his physical body before he could begin seclusion. Surviving as a Soul Body, he eventually became Venerate You Hun 227.

Wei Yang captured him and created an improved Soul Control Seal that gave complete command over his life, death, and thoughts. Wei Yang renamed him Ah Da, and Ah Da accepted the name and his position as a Soul Slave without resistance 227.

Appearance

As a Soul Body, Ah Da usually concealed himself beneath a loose black robe and hood. His hands were translucent, while his gaze was often hidden in the shadows beneath the hood 242 433.

After his resurrection, he possessed the body of a boy around fifteen or sixteen years old, retaining the same appearance as his Soul Body 470 471.

Personality

Ah Da is unfailingly deferential toward Wei Yang, promptly following orders and addressing him as “Master.” He values Wei Yang's trust deeply, particularly after Wei Yang promised not to treat him poorly following the discovery of the Void Meteorite Ruins 227 869.

He is cunning, ruthless, and particularly dangerous when dealing with enemies. He devours Soul Origin to strengthen himself, uses defeated foes' souls as resources, and shows little mercy to threats against Wei Yang's group 416 433 710. However, he can exercise restraint when Wei Yang's interests require it, such as refusing to kill the Heaven Demon Phoenix Clan members despite having the power to do so 597.

His loss of a physical body remains a personal wound. Ice Venerate's remark that he was merely “clinging to life” provoked Ah Da into consuming his stored Soul Origin and escalating their battle 433. After his revival, he was visibly exhilarated to fight without the limitations of a Soul Body 471.

Ah Da also has a petty rivalry with Single-Horn, resenting the latter for once preventing him from approaching Wei Yang during seclusion. He later enjoyed decisively defeating Single-Horn in their sparring match 279 471.
