Background / History

Medusa ruled the Snake-People Race from its royal city in the Tagor Desert. Feared throughout the Jia Ma Empire, she possessed a cold and lethal reputation; even Hai Bodong, whom she had sealed away for decades, reacted with fear upon recognizing her. 42 214

At the peak of the Dou Emperor realm, Medusa acquired the Green Lotus Core Flame and resolved to risk her life by using it to evolve into a higher form. While Gu He’s party invaded the royal city in pursuit of the flame, Medusa refused his offered pills and protected her plan. 57

Within the Divine Temple, she assumed a giant purple-serpent form, erected a barrier around the temple, and entered the Green Lotus Core Flame. Her body was severely burned and appeared to perish, but a new life emerged from within: the Seven-Colored Sky Swallowing Python. 59 60 61

The evolution was incomplete. A newly born soul belonging to the Sky-Swallowing Python dominated their shared body, leaving Medusa unable to reliably control it and dependent on opportunities to emerge in human form. 87 97 148
