Background / History

Wang first appears as the director overseeing the Special Cases Department team assembled for the Vanishing Bus operation. He observes the conflict between Qin Feng and Lei Yun and intervenes after Lei Yun loses control following his humiliating defeat. 29 30

As Qin Feng’s record grows, Wang becomes one of his most important institutional protectors. When Inspector Gao demands disclosure of Qin’s secrets, Wang invokes the protections owed to S-Class collaborators and argues that Qin’s near-unbroken S-Class mission record marks him as the department’s future rather than a threat. 67
