Kingpin, who was signing a contract, looked up upon hearing this absurd news. He stared at his good brother, Aaron Davis, and asked in disbelief, "Are you serious?"

"That's what they said. Quentin finished that half-finished aquarium, then his temperament changed drastically. He said he was going to take down Spider-Man himself." Aaron found it unbelievable too, but the facts were the facts. "I think he plans to avenge Chameleon. After all, he and Chameleon got along pretty well."

That only left Kingpin even more confused.

"They got along well?"

"Not really, actually. But considering how cowardly and insecure he is, and Chameleon was the only one who said a few kind words to him... I suppose that might be it." As Aaron spoke, he asked, "Do you need to see him?"

"Send him to Octavia's lab. An aquarium alone won't be enough to take down Spider-Man."

A few minutes later, Kingpin found Otto Octavius marveling over Quentin Beck. Somehow, Quentin had acquired a full set of green armor and placed that enormous aquarium-like projector over his head. Kingpin remembered that thing was supposed to be transparent, but now Quentin's face could not be seen at all.

"Ah, Mr. Kingpin." Otto, as always, refused to call Fisk by name. "Mr. Beck and I had a chat. While he isn't an expert in optics, he is exceptionally knowledgeable in related fields. He's quite a rare talent."

"I have completed a full upgrade of the photonic projector. It no longer has any environmental limitations, and it can analyze invisible light as well. I can control every image within a five-hundred-meter radius, make people disappear, or show them things they would find unbelievable."

Then Mysterio uttered the most arrogant sentence he had spoken since Kingpin kidnapped him and put him to work here.
