A Step Back for Each Side?

The Black King demanded that Spider-Man provide a "guarantee" to ensure that even if he truly became Earth-616's Black King in the future, he would not choose to blow up the symbiotes' collective consciousness network across the entire multiverse.

It sounded like there was room for negotiation, but in reality, the Black King's demand was to take control of Earth-616's symbiote network, and Peter would never agree to that. One only had to look at what the other side had done in his universe to know that they were not on the same path.

Of course, there was another path: the one the Black King had considered before, where Peter simply took Gwen and ran. The Living Abyss and the Enigma Force shared similar traits—they were bound to their universes. That was why the Black King had come to this universe's Klyntar to hijack its account, and why Peter had needed to wait for this universe's Enigma Force to arrive.

As long as Peter left this universe, the Black King would not be able to catch him. If he left the universe he controlled, he would become an ordinary Spider-Man, while Peter, no matter what, could get away.

Still, he wanted to explore the possibility of resolving this peacefully. Especially since this universe had not yet been completely controlled by the Web Legion, perhaps it could still be saved if they reached an agreement.

So Peter chose to fish for information first.
