Johnny was an ordinary worker in Chicago. He had a girlfriend, and that day, he brought his lover Eno to a restaurant for dinner. He ordered a medium-rare steak, while Eno, as usual, ordered hers medium-well.
"Spider-Man seems determined to prove to everyone that he's a fashion icon. He's changed into another new suit, showing off what exquisite artistic taste he supposedly has."
As he cut his steak, Johnny looked at J. Jonah Jameson on the television. The old man was sneering at Spider-Man's new outfit. "Look at that clownish color scheme, red and blue. Who does he think he is, Superman? If he were Superman, he should be able to fly through the heavens and burrow into the earth, capable of anything, instead of swinging around on a Silk every day like some clown!"
"I don't understand why we have to watch New York news in Chicago. What happens there has nothing to do with us. We don't even have superheroes here."
Eno voiced her confusion. Johnny forked a piece of beef into his mouth and chewed carefully as he answered, "I don't know. Maybe it's because we don't have superheroes here. Honestly, I think Chicago really needs some superpowered people in tights. Even a few mutants would do."
People always said New York was hell on earth, filled with superheroes and supervillains, and that it had even suffered two alien invasions. But in Johnny's eyes, New York was far more comfortable than Chicago. For one thing, you couldn't expect Chicago's police to deal with Chicago's gangs and thugs, much less Chicago's absurd crime rate.
Hell's Kitchen in New York looked like English gentlemen compared to Chicago's gangs.
Johnny chewed his steak and suddenly felt that today's meat was especially chewy. Unsure, he chewed it a while longer before
