The Fall of Atlantis

Atlantis was not the name of a single city. Even so, nearly every Atlantean city was called Atlantis, and the one where Laufey's corpse had been buried was no exception.

To prevent Laufey's corpse from being used, Odin had hidden it within an Atlantean city. It was a place almost no one would think of, sufficiently concealed and secure.

Moreover, anyone from the Norse pantheon who tried to seize the corpse would draw the attention of the Olympian gods. Odin could then ask Zeus to send someone to help resolve the problem. Even if Malekith learned its location, as long as he did not wish to face Odin and Zeus together, he would not strike at Atlantis.

"That is precisely why Roxxon Energy Corporation needs to make the move. As long as it is an internal matter of Earth's civilization, even if Olympus finds out, they cannot intervene."
