Kingpin Returns to the Game

Felicia stared at the scene before her in disbelief, then looked helplessly at Peter, unable to contain her curiosity.

"Can you believe it? Fisk is actually advertising here to recruit homeless people."

Felicia sat back down in disbelief, picked up her coffee, and took a drink. "I was prepared for the possibility that New York's homeless people had all been wiped out, or something like that, but the truth is—Fisk is doing charity work?"

As she said that, Felicia smiled at Peter Parker, only to find that he did not seem very surprised. Instead, he looked as though he were deep in thought, which made her curious. "You're actually not surprised?"

"No, not at all. This can only mean one thing: Kingpin is planning to make a comeback. Not only that, he's planning to make a big move..." Peter frowned as he thought, then suddenly remembered something. "Isn't the mayoral election this year?"

"If you're saying Fisk plans to run for mayor, that's a little too far-fetched. It's already September, and the election starts in November. Even if he wanted to run, he'd have to kick out one party's candidate and then actually win. What would he use to get elected? The goodwill of a few homeless people?"

Peter thought it over. Though he did not know Kingpin's exact plan, he truly felt that if Kingpin intended to run for mayor, it might not be impossible. With The Hand's purge in New York, the city's crime rate had plummeted. Under those circumstances, if Kingpin could use the gang forces at his disposal to keep crime at a very low level, he might actually have a chance.

It just seemed a little too hasty, didn't it?

Seeing Peter deep in thought, Felicia helplessly waved a hand in front of his eyes.
