Dark Consortium

Demonized Illyana rose to her feet, shouldering her greatsword as she looked at everyone. Yet she stood there without moving. Wanda asked Strange curiously, "Has she calmed down?"

"No. She's observing us. She's already realized that our main offensive strength comes from magic, so she's figuring out how to counter that... I'm starting to agree with Spider-Man. Perhaps Magik's dark side really has an independent consciousness of its own, rather than simply being her corrupted self."

As the ground shook around them, Strange watched a heart-like object fly above Illyana. Then silver-white liquid metal flowed onto her body. Strange raised a hand and cast a spell, trying to stop it, but failed. He could only shake his head and watch the silver liquid metal cover Illyana before transforming into a suit of silver armor.

"A red demon paired with silver armor. I have no idea where that girl learned to coordinate outfits."

Wanda shook her head and asked Strange, "What is that metal?"

"Promethium metal. It has a physical form similar to a symbiote's, but only physically. In every other respect, they have nothing to do with each other. It fears neither fire nor sonic waves, and worse still, promethium metal has extremely high magic resistance."

When the Avengers had dealt with Nimrod, they had discovered this troublesome property of promethium metal. Illyana knew them very well, which meant she knew that most of them wielded magical power. That was why she had used this thing to strengthen herself.

Strange looked at Illyana's sword-wielding arm. Illyana's Soul Greatsword was a part of her soul. Whenever she used it, it extended a portion of armor from it. As she became more proficient with it, the armor covered more and more of her body.
