A Visit to the Spider

Peter's schedule was indeed tight. He did not stay anywhere for more than a day. He arrived at Kunlun in the morning, had lunch, then passed through Kunlun's portal—the South Heaven Gate again—and arrived in the Spider Kingdom.

The scenery here was nowhere near as beautiful as Kunlun's. All Peter could see were razor-sharp stone pillars, large and small, piled together. The ground itself was practically a death trap. One careless step and a person would fall, pierced through like by ten thousand arrows.

In fact, Peter had already seen quite a few skeletons along the way. They lay below, making the place seem even more gloomy and terrifying.

Fortunately, neither of the two who had come here was ordinary. Daniel and Peter moved by relying on those seemingly unstable rock spires. Peter glanced back at the scattered bones. "I think this place can't recruit apprentices not only because it lacks fame and Kunlun has claimed most of the resources. I'd guess that most people who came out of curiosity gave up after seeing this terrain, or simply died halfway here."

"The Spider Kingdom's terrain is indeed harsh. Back when the Heart of Heaven had not yet shattered, this was already one of the regions with the worst environment. But perhaps it was precisely because of that that the Mountain Spider was able to become this realm's Immortal Beast after the Heart of Heaven broke apart."

Peter nodded, then suddenly realized something. "Wait, are you saying the Mountain Spider is the weakest of the seven Immortal Beasts?"

Daniel fell silent for a moment, then shook his head. "No, I am not."

Without a doubt, he was, but he could not say it outright.

The two continued forward through this rugged landscape, like the inside of a limestone cave but without
