• Black Eyes Old Man explained that the Devouring Ancestral Symbol had been taken but remained sealed, and he offered Lin Fan and Lin Dong the rune that could break the seal.
• Lin Fan declined the rune and urged Lin Dong to take it, so Black Eyes Old Man gave it to Lin Dong and warned him that an Ancestral Symbol carried responsibilities as well as power.
