Brom tore off his tattered, blood-soaked clothes and hurled them at Zost.
Then he charged forward in large strides.
Zost raised the dagger in his hand and slashed, splitting Brom's clothes in two. He then drove the blade downward, stabbing it unobstructed into Brom's arm.
Fresh blood splattered.
Brom's arm twitched involuntarily from the pain, interrupting his punch. Instead, he instinctively pulled his arm back.
This also happened to carry the small dagger back with it.
Seeing the dagger slip from his hand, Zost still stepped forward and began pummeling Brom's body.
Every strike targeted a human's vulnerable or vital points.
Sure enough, after only a few seconds, Brom once again sat down on the floor without any surprise.
This time, Zost did not retreat. He kicked toward Brom's face.
But Brom grabbed him by the ankle.
Even though Brom's face was twitching violently from the pain, a trace of a smile still appeared.
"I've got you."
His other arm clenched into a fist and smashed toward Zost.
At this moment, Brom's body was covered in glowing, crimson, lava-like cracks. At the same time, his body temperature rose by dozens of degrees, approaching a hundred.
