When Liu Chong woke up again, he was already in a hospital in Manhattan. Both his hands were immobilized in splints, and quite a few injured patients were groaning in the beds around him. Looking around, he saw that they were either missing an arm or had a broken leg. Compared to them, Liu Chong was extremely lucky.
A young nurse came in carrying a report. Her short golden hair made her look neat and brisk, and there were a few faint freckles on either side of her nose. Her full, curvaceous figure made the groaning injured patients nearby quiet down a little.
Seeing that Liu Chong had woken up, the nurse grinned. "Kid, you're incredibly lucky. You were near the street where those two monsters went berserk, yet you only suffered injuries this minor."
She glanced at the report in her hand, then lowered her head and patted Liu Chong's little head. "Oh, right. The police originally said they were going to look for your parents, but it seems they couldn't find them. You should contact them and have them come pick you up. They can pay the medical bill while they're at it!"
"Nurse Penny, what time is it?" Liu Chong glanced out the window, where it was still pitch-black.
"It's four fifteen in the morning. Hmm, you were only brought here last night, and you've been unconscious for six hours!" Penny checked her watch, then leaned down and said kindly, "Your medical bill is two hundred and thirty-seven dollars, though. You can make a call at the nurses' station. I still have work to do. Bye!"
"Bye, Nurse Penny!" Liu Chong glanced at the name tag on her chest and replied.
The nurse's departure attracted the attention of most of the people around, but not Liu Chong's.
