Death Explosion

The doors to the banquet hall opened, and the S.H.I.E.L.D. Bomb Disposal Team came in fully armed.

May also walked in.

"Sif, what's the situation?"

"There's one person left. The explosives are strapped to her body. She's lost too much blood and needs immediate treatment."

Sif looked at the Bomb Disposal Team members in bomb suits and carrying bomb shields nearby, then said softly, "The explosives have been modified. The wiring is complicated, and much of it has been concealed by Fresh Blood."

The Bomb Disposal Team did not speak. All the Team Members seemed equally silent as several of them spread out to monitor and assess the surroundings.

A Bomb Disposal Operator and two Assistants immediately walked toward the woman lying in the center of the banquet hall.

May also looked at Sif and said, "We've found twenty kilograms of yellow TNT explosive. It's all been placed on the main load-bearing beams outside the two halls. Once detonated, the entire hall could collapse."

"Strange. There's practically no sign of human activity inside those two halls. Why would Ward place the explosives there?"

"According to intelligence, a full forty kilograms of explosives were brought in. There are less than three kilograms of explosives on that Hostage now. Where's the rest?"

May was puzzled.

Before Sif could speak, she suddenly sensed that something was terribly wrong. She immediately turned around and shouted at the Bomb Disposal Team, "Don't move!!"

The Bomb Disposal Operator's hand, halfway extended, stopped in midair. He turned his head in confusion.

The next second, an incredibly intense explosion erupted from the completely dead Hostage's body.

The Hostage's heart stopping completely activated the Detonator. The powerful chemical reaction produced immense heat and a microcurrent, detonating the stable small quantities of TNT explosive once they reached the critical ignition point.

The terrifying blast instantly tore the corpse into bloody fragments, while the immense energy rapidly spread outward.

All of this happened in no more than an instant.

Even Sif, standing nearly ten meters away, could only hurriedly raise the shield in her hand as far as she could.

"Ward, this kind of weapon on Earth isn't much of a threat to an Asgardian. Besides, Sif is one of Asgard's finest warriors."

Lorelei looked at Ward and spoke with disdain.

"I know. That's precisely why I placed half the explosives there. The crude traps at the other two locations were merely meant to make S.H.I.E.L.D. lower its guard."

"Even an Asgardian would be seriously injured under twenty kilograms of TNT explosive, right?"

Ward glanced at the watch interface in his hand, which had become a completely straight line, and the corner of his mouth curled into a cruel smile.

This was the power of an elite S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent. The finest doctor could become the most terrifying killer.

Likewise, once a super-agent who had been tempered through endless trials betrayed them, he could also become the finest terrorist.

At the original blast site, beneath the woman who had been strapped with explosives, there was a crude pit. All the remaining explosives had been buried inside, along with other High Explosives.

The light explosion it caused immediately triggered the massive amount of explosives below.

The next moment, an even more violent explosion erupted from the center of the banquet hall.

The powerful blast first swept away the countless bloody fragments of the female corpse used as a trap, then struck the three-member Bomb Disposal Team nearby.

They were instantly torn apart and blasted into dozens of pieces, but this did nothing to hinder the spread of the violent explosion.

The powerful and terrifying Shockwave continued spreading rapidly outward.

Next came Sif and May.

With her sharper senses, Sif used all her strength to raise the Uru Alloy shield she had been holding and barely block it in front of herself.

In that brief instant, the shield expanded, barely covering Sif's upper body.

Fortunately, May happened to be standing behind Sif, and Sif almost completely shielded May from the blast.

Sif was completely unable to block the powerful Shockwave. The sturdy Uru Shield in her hand was not torn apart by the blast.

Instead, it slammed violently into Sif and sent her flying.

May, standing behind Sif, was naturally sent flying along with her.

Then came the five fully armed Bomb Disposal Team members still inside the hall. They were also blasted away by the powerful Shockwave.

The bomb shields in their hands were torn into several pieces, and their bomb suits began to suffer extensive damage under the force of the explosion.

In less than half a second, a small but violent Mushroom Cloud rose from the center of the enormous banquet hall.

The powerful Shockwave nearly shattered everything within a twenty-meter radius.

The explosion came quickly and vanished just as quickly. Two or three seconds later, all that remained inside the banquet hall was a huge crater and thick smoke that obscured everything.

The glass chandeliers and crystal lamps that had originally hung from the ceiling had all vanished, leaving the entire enormous banquet hall covered in jagged ruins.

Sif and May were also thrown more than ten meters away in an instant, crashing heavily onto the ground.

May suffered severe injuries and fell unconscious on the spot.

After taking the blast head-on, Sif's shield slipped weakly from her hand and fell to the side. She also lost consciousness.

Bang! Boom!!!!

Everyone outside the Caesar Hotel shuddered. They heard the deafening boom, along with the roof fragments blasted into the air and the thick Black Smoke.

Even Coulson, who had been standing outside the hotel the entire time, was momentarily stunned by the sudden explosion.

The next second, his Footsteps instinctively carried him toward the inside of the hotel.

"May!! May!! Sif!! Answer me!!"

Skye, who had been typing on a keyboard nearby, immediately threw down the laptop she had always treasured and ran toward the blast site with Coulson.

Fitz was the only one who was a step slower. He hurriedly grabbed a communications device and a gun before rushing inside after them.

By the time Coulson reached the scene, the S.H.I.E.L.D. combat team stationed closest to the area had already arrived. They were rapidly administering first aid to the wounded and clearing the site.

The most luxurious hall was in complete disarray. A huge, ugly crater had appeared, and the lavish decorations around it had been reduced to a pile of junk.

Some charred chunks of Fresh Blood could barely be seen on the ground. They belonged to the Bomb Disposal Operators who had been closest to the center of the explosion.

Coulson went straight to May, who was lying flat on the ground, and asked anxiously, "How is she?"

"Sir, May has no obvious external injuries, but she has severe internal bleeding and needs treatment immediately."

"As for this Asgardian, we don't know yet. We need more specialized instruments to examine her."

"Two members of the Bomb Disposal Team are severely injured but still alive. The other six are all dead. As for the other hostages, we haven't seen any yet."

Coulson looked at May, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth, then at Sif, who remained unconscious, and the Bomb Disposal Team members nearby, whose bodies were covered in severe burns and missing limbs.

A trace of pain flashed through his eyes. He took out his phone and dialed the number he had been hesitating over for so long.
