"It's as if you're completely confident about the future and not worried at all. Leo, how do you do it?"
Wanda looked at Leo as she spoke, unable to hide her envy of his attitude toward the future. Her childhood had been far from peaceful.
"Can you really see the future? Wouldn't that make you all-knowing and all-powerful?" Wanda asked enviously. She actually somewhat believed it.
"No, of course not."
Leo looked at Wanda and smiled. "Actually, I often worry about the future too. What I saw was only the general trend of the future—a possible future without me."
"Even all of that has already changed. What I know is far too limited."
"I worry about the future too. But you'll find that the future will always be a mystery. You can never know exactly what will happen."
"Not everyone will do what you want them to do. All you can do is seize the present."
Leo patted Wanda on the head. Although he was three years younger than Wanda physically, his mental age was considerably greater.
"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is the best gift. So smile more often, all right?"
Leo looked at Wanda and spoke gently.
"Follow your heart, and perhaps you'll be able to see your own future. It will surely be made up of the beautiful things in your heart. So run in that direction, and things will get better and better."
Wanda listened to Leo, her figure going slightly still as a different light flickered in her eyes.
Only after glancing at Pietro, who had already gone over to Rogers's side, did Wanda slowly speak.
