I Want So Badly to Escape

Seven Jinchuriki had reached the center of the battlefield, and the war was about to move into its climax.

White laser Light Pillars danced through the sky without pause, precisely locking onto one target after another.

In the forest, one ambushing ninja after another raced across the branches. They were the assault personnel of the Explosion Corps, but they were not actually members of the Explosion Corps. They were elite ninjas from the various villages.

Their mission was to destroy the towers in the forest. Through the gaps in the forest canopy, a black-cloth-masked Sand Hidden Village ninja looked up at the tower rising in the distance and silently gripped his scroll.

This distance wasn't enough.

They had to get a little closer.

But in the next second, a laser as thin as a line shot straight out, piercing through layers of obstacles in the forest and accurately striking his brow.

A spot of blood appeared between his eyebrows. The ninja who had just leaped forward collapsed with a sound, falling into the soft leaf litter.

Beside him, a burly Hidden Cloud man glanced at his companion's corpse. Cold sweat trickled down his forehead as he sped up once more.

The next second, the Hidden Cloud Jonin's pupils shrank. His foot seemed to have stepped on something familiar, and his heart stopped.

He had only just managed to jump when a violent explosion lit up the forest. Amid the rising flames and black smoke, his entire body was sent flying into the sky. He spun through the air before landing heavily on a thick branch. One leg had snapped, and as blood streamed down, he let out a shrill wail.

"Watch out!!! Minefield!!! Watch your feet!!!"

Amid the roar, screams rose and fell all around them.
